Do you like escargots (snails)?

I've eaten them on a few occasions. Always prepared the French way, cooked and served in their shell with some butter.
Can't say I'm a huge fan though... What about you?

Only had one occasion and liked them. Pretty sure the preparation would have a lot to do with it though.

Can't say I do. It's one of those fancy stuff I must endure if the host decides to offer at a dinner but it's not something I'd order at a restaurant.

Very few ingredients and you have AMAZING escargot (butter, shallot, parsley, white wine, worcestershire, bread crumbs.....and more wine for the cook!)

It's more about the butter, garlic and bread for me, the actual snails are a little rubbery but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy them. I do, a great deal when they prepared correctly!!

I'm here with you on this. They can be a little too salty for me, otherwise I enjoy them.

I like escargot and used to eat them occasionally when I lived in New Orleans.

I don't see them on the menus of the restaurants I frequent here in New Mexico.

it is an exquisite dish. A perfect appetizer with nice toast baguette :-)
You got to go to the right place where it is done right. Otherwise it is just butter sauce and some Chewy slime

Had it a few times while vacationing in Paris with the wife and really enjoyed them, quite delicious, but will say it all depends on preparation.

Escargot

Butter & garlic.

I could eat them all day like popcorn (but only between 2 and 10 PM).

Every French restaurant I go I try them. One of my favs.

There used to be a place in St. Louis (francos) that made some of the best. It unfortunately closed.

Yes, during peak snail season we would make our own by picking them from the garden, letting them clean their system for a few days on lettuce, and then cooking them up in their shells. Delicious. It's not the over the top delicatessen here that they are in the US because "ooh, that's French, isn't it?" It's a nearly no-cost dish we enjoyed a few times a year. This is peasant food made popular and expensive, really.

Love it when I see them on the menu of a good restaurant. Would never try to prepare them myself.

yes, it's good. Much prefer it to the "sea cucumber" served at high end restaurants in China
