16014 Dial Question

Hi all.

I have a two tone 36mm DJ with a champagne tapestry dial and as I get older I find it harder and harder to read the time.

I was looking to replace the dial with a silver dial but keep the gold hands. When looking for a silver stick dial I noticed all the sticks were silver but have seen photos of silver dial TT DJ with champagne sticks on the silver dial.

Am I imagining that this exists? I am having a real hard time sourcing the silver dial with gold sticks. Would love any guidance.

Photos would help, but if I'm understanding correctly, I think you are looking for a dial that would normally be in a two-tone or gold model. So maybe try searching for 16013 dials. A 16014 should not be two-tone IIRC, so maybe yours was converted previously, or perhaps you are mis-remembering the reference.

Anyway, the dials definitely exist.

I just went on eBay and searched for

rolex silver dial 16013

and quite a few showed up. You'll just need to go through and look carefully to make sure you find one that is legit. Or buy a pledge membership and place a want-to-buy ad on the forum. I'm sure there are members sitting on plenty of DJ dials. Good luck!

You are correct, it is a 16013. I misremembered. I will look for 16013 dials. I love the tapestry dial but its impossible to read.

That one little difference changed everything. Thank you for that. Any advice on how to make sure the dial is legit? Im new to this but what is considered a fair price for a DJ dial? The range on ebay is pretty wide.

The tapestry dials are desirable, so it seems to me that a straight-up trade would be feasible if you find the right person.

I am hoping to keep the tap dial since it is what came with the watch. Was looking to mainly buy a new dial to replace.

Sorry to bother but any advice on how to ensure I get an original dial? Some look tgtbt but maybe they have been refinished?

It's mainly a matter of recognizing subtleties of printing, etc., and unfortunately the learning curve is pretty steep. It might be better if you can find someone trusted to buy from. Or perhaps some DJ experts here will help you by posting some suggestions, or contact you by PM.

Yes, there are plenty of refinished and aftermarket dials. Wait for advice from people who know more than me.
