Great news - I think you should honestly cherish that Day Date you have, its a real stunner and a dream watch for most people(including me).

Its worn by presidents and world leaders! as much as I love Patek Phillipe I do not think the green 36m aquanaut is the right next step given your current collection.

Keep the Day Date and enjoy it.

That Patek really does not look good imo. You would instantly regret it I think,

I certainly don't like the strap on that aquanaut. It looks after market. Not nicely finished around the lugs.

Out of curiosity, was this a watch dealer offering the 5066A? How much was he offering to sell the watch outright?

As someone mentioned earlier, the older Aquanauts 5065 and 5066 were selling in the mid teens a few years ago. Curious what they are going these days with the rise in modern day Aquanauts.

An older Patek without papers and no service history is a harder sell, unless you can get it inspected by a Patek-trained watchmaker first.

I think you made the wise decision here

+1.

That would be two cool watches for one not so cool looking watch IMO.

So I actually just swapped these two watches for this 1601.
And it’s a really nice piece.
What’s your opinion guys.

Not a chance. That particular Patek is not as nice looking as what you already have. Good luck in your decision. Cheers

No, have you ever worn a 5066?
I had one for a few days, imo for me and I have a 6.5 inch wrist, it was small and boring.
A 5065 heck ya.

Also I wouldn't give up those two, the WG DD is a beauty

For a 5065 yes, I'd do that in a heartbeat. For a 5066... much less so.
