A friend at work just ordered Pam 88 from DSW. I emailed him a few days ago for details, and my friend bought it a few days later. Another Rolex guy joined the dark side!

100% agreed that the 88 is an awesome piece. I really like the hands. If I didn't already have the GMT covered with the Explorer II, I would have been seriously tempted. Luckily, the 164 came along and "saved" me. JB, get your friend to post pix here! |

after looking at the pics again, i think 005 has too much on the dial.
on the other side, 112 has too little that it's boring after a while. choices narrowed to 000, 111!! you guys were talking abt PAM 88.. i personally don't like GMTs from PAM, just personal preference.. someone was talking abt PAM being the brand of which the cheapest models are the best looking ones.. I agree!

same here, thats why i have always liked the simple dials. the most i'd go with would be 3 hands dial for me at the moment (the ones with sub dial at 9 o'clock) |

went to the store, compared 000, 111, 219, 359.
I liked 000 the most, but weighing a few options before throwing the money the only thing is i compared the case of 000 with 359, and I like the 359 case better... is that called 1950 case? do all automatic movements have that same case?

must have been a good store visit. yep, the 359 is a 1950 case. but, no, not all autos are 1950s, and not all 1950s are autos (see, for example, the 233). some luminors are autos, too....for example, my 164 is an automatic in a luminor case, and it has a similar dial to the 359. |

remember the straps give the watch a whole new look so comparing watches with different straps may not be the ideal. |

Sandwich v. Sausage (aka paint).
112H and greater v. 112G and lower IMHO Sausage looks better on the 44mm Luminor case, but most will disagree with me here.
