So they recommended the 5960 of which I do like the /1A but it is discontinued. I’m not sure what second piece to order....

I’d find a different dealer.

Unfortunately similar practice is happening in the UK as well. Some retailers are now asking new customers to purchase jewellery to "establish a relationship"

5990 is not that had to obtain and can be had within few months. 5960A is a great piece as well, it is the most complicated steel Patek which was in regular production. However it is not very popular and some retailers could not move the 5960A for years and still can be bought with a decent discount despite being discontinued.

they are recommending you take an extremely slow seller to get a nautilus that isn't hard to get? I'd tell them to stuff it.

That bundling crap is garbage, especially if you have a history with them. And for the 5990, I just don't think it's worth it, shouldn't be that hard to get on its own in reasonable time. Tell them to pound sand and find another AD to deal with.

Or Porsche. But yeah, these kind of shenanigans aren't unique to watches at all

Keep AP's, Lange and JLC's, maybe the Toledo, all else can go for me, but in reality sell the ones you wear the least

Wait your dealer says you need to buy another piece to get the 5990??? Find another dealer, even if many do this it's not honest IMO...

Was difficult to let the Duometre go, truly is a special and unique watch....but the 5990 force was strong!

Yep! Whether Pista or GT2RS there are tricks dealers play even with $500K+ cars. I can attest as have waited for 7 months on a "secure" allocation only to have the dealer throw in a $30K charge the last minute.

I actually think the car market is far worse. Even the dealers that don’t play “market adjustment” games on a new allocation, are still quite happy to help customers flip their newly acquired cars at a considerable markup. The worst kind of enabling.

I read that thread on Fchat about some obscure $36k option charge....total B.S.
Lambo does the opposite...I have a deposit on the SVJ. Initially we were told Low production #’s but then released numbers of 900 coupes!! I pulled my deposit into the Roadster but who knows how many of those hey will produce.
Awwww the elusive production #’s .......

P.S. congrats on the Pista!

Yep looks like Tim a.k.a. 09Scuderia @ FChat got his PPAC issue resolved. My dealer has not returned my calls on it yet. Such is life...
