Vintage Omega straps
Hi guys,
Just recently made the plunge into my first Omega vintage purchase (plenty more to come) and went with this ref. 14707 in solid gold with a silver linen dial. It has the Omega signed buckle as well. I need new straps for it but have had difficulty in finding 18mm lug width straps that taper to 16mm so I can keep the signed buckle with it. Being a dress watch, I’d like to keep within the exotic leathers (lizard, ostrich, croc, etc) Can anyone suggest some thin straps that meet these criteria or even pics of yours for reference? Thanks in advance! Jimmy

Wow, what a dynamite Omega! Nice choice.
I would look at two models from Hirsch: the Regent, which is a round-scale alligator strap with a satin finish, and the London, which is a square-scale alligator strap that you can have in either satin or gloss finish. Both are available in the size you want (18mm x 16mm), and both are ~3.5mm thick at the lugs and ~2.2mm thick at the buckle, which I suppose will work nicely on that watch. Go straight to Hirsch's site to order (I was surprised to see prices there that are less than private sellers charge for the same straps). https://www.hirschstraps.com/ I also would browse offerings on Camille Fournet's site. This Paris-based maker offers ready-to-wear straps in a huge variety of hides and colors, and pretty much all are available in the dimensions you seek. Camille Fournet also offers bespoke service, so you can specify details right on the web site for a strap made to your exact specs and preferences. This could be lots of fun for that watch! https://www.camillefournet.com/en/ |

Great looking watch! I'd also echo AEC's suggestions as both make very nice straps and, while not inexpensive, offer a good value for the money.

George Lan (Cheer Giant Straps) makes some great and well priced gator straps.
Beautiful watch! |
