All of your concerns are valid.

Nonetheless I enjoy wearing my Patek 5940G as a daily wear. If it had the water resistance, I would bring it to the beach and shower but alas I just don’t do those things with it but wear it and enjoy it just the same.

Biggest issue for me not mentioned in your list has become the ubiquity of rolex and their recognizability, there are times when I want to fly under the radar and the Patek is perfect.
