Question- is this DRSD caseback legit?

Here is the watch I am looking at:
https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/extre...-id6982588.htm

I'm curious if the case back is authentic. My question has to do with the "V" in valve. I'm new to researching these, but all the reliably offered ones (H.Q. Milton, etc) show the "V" with a flat spot at the bottom of the V and not the sharp pointy V as seen on this item.

Please excuse my newbiness, I have tried searching, but your more experienced google-fu is likely better than mine.

So again, the question is "is the sharp pointy bottomed "v" a tell of a fake or not?"

I'm no DRSD fanatic but I know that even letters in the words "SWISS MADE" on the modern 114060 dial differ greatly. Hard to lean towards it being a fake just because there's no other photos of a similar caseback on such an old watch.

Could even be a service replacement but there are no photos of the inside of the caseback either.

Oh, I'm not going to buy this watch. $30K+ for a service dial is not happening with me.

I saw this watch on Chrono24 too. As soon as I saw it was a service dial, I passed it up very quickly.

I actually like service dials, not as much as original, but I do like functional lume.

But no way would I pay so much for this one.

Out of curiosity, what do you guys think the value of this watch with a service dial should be?

If you had to sell it, how much do you think you could actually get?

I'm guessing it is south of $20K, but north of $15K, but I'm only a newbie amatuer here...

If it would have the original Mk2 dial, that would be close to six figures with it being a full set. Price is probably accurate TBH. Mk4 DRSD's are going for close to $60K now (full set).

Interesting. I prefer the functional lume as a more daily wear, but I am holding out for a thin case sea dweller so we shall see what pops up.

Got it.

Thin case full kit will be over $100K and $85K for the watch alone.

Since I've been paying attention more and more to these watches, it appears they are quite rare. You can find more old Daytona's than DRSD's for sale at any given time.
Again, it makes sense since they were really designed for a specific reason (same as the Daytona). I would think, back then, most people didn't really purchase a watch like this just because they liked the way it looked. The design was very similar to the Submariner of the time as well so it gave them another option that was a little cheaper and the case wasn't as thick.

I can't wait till I get mine. Hoping early next week. It was held up in customs because FedEx are a bunch of morons.

Preview pick attached. It looks completely unpolished too!
