Something about the dial seems off to me; the spacing is just a tad off and everything is off-center. Also, although this was a poorly kept secret, not offering this in 38mm still feels like a miss.
Aesthetics aside, technical advancements are impressive. Don't think I've ever heard of a watch with two remontoires.

I think you’re either going to love or hate the cut out window - makes it look more bulbous and less sleek but for me overall that’s a nice addition. I think the power reserve is nicer - more symmetrical which is important for this piece - conversely the 24 hour dial would prefer it be 12. The crown no longer at 12 is a clear plus. For someone so focused on chronometry, it’s fitting his resonance gets a rementoir like his other flagship piece the Tourbillon (and optimum).

Overall think this is a win, given I think his vertical Tourbillon and the new octa lune are clearly less desirable than their predecessors.

Technically it’s incredible but I prefer the cleanliness and symmetry of the original. And also agree the 38mm size is perfect and wish FPJ would bring that back. Having said that, congrats to him for taking something so successful and updating it in such a way.

Wow. The dual constant force mechanisms are what perfects the resonance. Now each escapement will receive the same energy as the other and the same energy all along the unwinding of the mainspring. The escapements can then be optimized for that exact level of energy.
Looks like the first 28 hours of the mainspring are those in which the constant force functions, after that you've got another 10ish hours without...

Yes, 38mm is great, but nobody buys that size except us. FPJ moved up because of pure sales reasons and I don't blame them at all for it.

By the way, look up Derek Pratt's dual wheel tourbillon pocketwatch for another dual constant force mechanism watch.

I like it, but also like all of the resonance iterations. Is there a price yet?

Too rich for my blood, but if I had the funds for a 110k timepiece, this would be near or at the top of the list. The resonance complication is amazing, and a horological rarity.

Seriously! What an amazing complication, there's nothing else out there that relies just on this effect without having to use some sort of extra mechanical linkage. I think this version will be the one to most consistently and stably realize the resonance effect.

Happy to see the release.
Happier to own a 38mm version. New one is 11mm thick vs old 9mm thick.

This is amazing. Closest thing you can get to magic in a wrist watch is two balance wheels syncing up without being linked to each other in any way. People (me) were skeptical how this could work but it works! Seriously cool stuff. Watch and movement looks great. Love this. 10/10

Excellent, in my view. Aside from the tech which I keep re-reading and watching this video (hard to follow the egalites), I do love the dial. One, I like the 24 hr dial. Sense full. It brand all his newer pieces, the one year 2019 Rez production and the Astronomie. Two, while I have never wound a Rez, it seems like a great idea to have at 2 o’clock though aesthetically it impressed me at 12. Three: while it seems harder to read the time with the seconds ring, I love that ring and the font. Four: symmetrically, I like the dials this way. It feels like a great progression to this wonderful line. Thicker, fuller, mature.

Concerns: that opening in the heart, 11mm thickness, and the power reverse - as traditionalist, I really liked the old location and feel it was coming from its original design. These are small things as I will hope one day to see in person.

Overall: 9.6 out of 10.

Mike, yes 38 steel with good movement (38mm outside this release typically found with brass movement). A Part of the 5 piece steel set (38 sets of 5 pieces, including resonance and tourbillon...)

Early on, The version that really captured my attention was the black label resonance.
I can’t recall seeing one on the secondary market in the past.
I believe black label were offered only in a 40mm case?

I really love the Ruthenium and italian LE ~”Pisa” not sure? I am drawn to so many of the different versions A few of them were later and used a 40mm case.

It would make me feel quite stupid trying to figure out the time from 9am to 2pm on the left dial.

Personally, I'm in love.

I don't mind the thickness. And I love the weirdness.

In my opinion, I'm going to enjoy this one more than the original Reso (which is a favorite of mine).

I really love the original 38mm Journes. The new oversize models? Not so much.

I get that that's where the market's at, but it's a shame.

Couldn’t agree more. The 38mm size is perfect in these watches and wish they would come back into the collection.

Just the resonance. Of the set it was the one that stood out to me. When it was released I had a thought that it would nice to be able to purchase just that piece.

In October of 2018 I saw one pop up for sale. No box no papers as broken sets would be sold. I took it as a sign and went ahead with the purchase that good sense would have prevented at the time.

I have the brochure from the time of release that includes the complete steel set :)

One of the smarter buys you have ever made I'd imagine. I envy that watch (in a healthy way).

I prefer the 38mm models, particularly to the 40mm variants where they just upsized the case and bezel while keeping the dials the same size. However, if built from the ground up with the intention of using a 40mm or 42mm case size, I'd go with the 40mm. The details on the more complicated pieces are pretty small, so a little extra size to increase legibility isn't a bad thing.

I hope to see one of these new 2020 Resonances in the metal someday. For now, I can dream of a platinum perpetual calendar or Optimum down the road to compliment my 38mm rose gold CS.
