RUMOR or TRUTH: You can buy a bracelet for a Rolex GMT 126710 (Jubilee or Oyster)

I have heard so many different stories from everyone, including but not limited to: Rolex NYC Boutique, Rolex NYC Service Center, Rolex Forums and My AD.

I can't seem to get the story correct.

Here is everything I have heard to date, please let me know what you are hearing and can we find out the TRUTH?

RUMORS:

1) The bracelets for the GMTs are considered to be 'Replacement Parts'. You my buy a new bracelet; however it must be the same bracelet AND you will turn in yours (Source: Rolex Service Center - June 2021 + NYC Boutique December 2021)

2) The holes in the lugs are different and cannot change bracelets unless it is the same bracelet (Source: Internet / Rolex Forums)

3) You will be able to buy a bracelet of your choosing, just not at this time (Source: My local AD - December 2021)

4) You cannot buy a different style bracelet for your watch reference 126710 does not show the option to purchase another bracelet (Source: Rolex Service Center - December 2021)

5) You can buy the bracelet of your choosing and NOT turn in your current bracelet. (Source: Rolex Forms - December 2021)

And there you have it! Please let me know your thoughts on any of what you are hearing, seeing or have physically in this so called LIFE.

At this point, if a gmt pepsi came with an oyster, one can get jubilee while returning the oyster

It doesn't work from jubilee to oyster

If only listed as a replacement spare part due to wear or damage.
I'm sure Rolex only want the watch to be as authentically displayed or repaired as it would be new.
No Frankenwatches on their Watch.
No pun intended.

All I can say for sure is I recently bought a bracelet for my Sub. No questions, no handing my old one in, just a straight purchase with the offer to have them fit it if I wanted (I didnt). That was an AD. RSC was same price but would only sell it if I took the watch head in to have it fitted. Same price at both.

I have heard some newer models are designed to stop bracelet swaps, but I don't know which ones.

Where are you getting this information from?

Also, why would that be the case? It's either you can change bracelets or not.

These stories baffle me, because I asked my AD the same thing. With that being said the manager did admit (2) major points. 1) they are low on the totem pole according to boutiques vs their stores 2) they are closing 1st quarter of 2022

As one who really never complains about Rolex MSRP pricing...$2,438 for a bracelet is cra cra.

I have recently purchased a GMT BLNR 126710 on oyster. I contacted to UK rolex head office to enquire about purchasing a jubilee bracelet. I was informed that at this time Rolex will allow a jubilee to be purchased as the oyster is most recent release for the BLNR. The couldn’t give me an exact timescale but stated that at the ‘time of service’ in ‘the future’ it would be possible to purchase a jubilee bracelet for the watch as an addition.

So this is a new one - you can only buy a bracelet at the time of service. So basically you need to pay for service ($1,000??) + Bracelet ($2,500). Tough day haha.

You can buy the bracelet but at present Rolex have not released it for sale. This is from RSC London.

I have a Jubilee and want the latest oyster. They said will be on general sale as a spare from sometime in 2022.

I purchased my Pepsi from a UK AD on the oyster bracelet. I was able to buy the jubilee separately via the same AD. The AD initially said that the jubilee would not fit but I said I was happy to take the risk as I knew the part number for the jubilee. I did not have to hand in my oyster. The AD said it would take up to 6 weeks but it came in about 2 or 3 weeks. The cost was £1,700.

It fit. I can't post links but it's the same as any other Pepsi on a jubilee.

Maybe because there are so many RSC in so many countries! All I can say is that is that London RSC will sell me the oyster for the pepsi when it available sometime in 2022. The jubilee, as the watch has been out for a few years, is already available and been purchased by another member.

The rumor last week was if your 126710 came on Jubilee you can’t purchase an Oyster but if it came on Oyster you could purchase a Jubilee. That makes no sense.

RUMOR or TRUTH: You can buy a bracelet for a Rolex GMT 126710 (Jubilee or Oyster)

I bought a 126710BLRO on Oyster this year (2021 watch). My AD delivered my jubilee bracelet in two weeks after buying the watch.

Edit: I’m in Canada.

My AD has an in house watchmaker, this is what they told me. I can get the oyster bracelet, but will have to wait to sometime in 22.

Rolex watchmaker at my AD said yes but as of yet they still haven’t ordered one for me. I don’t mind waiting

I have been told the same direct from RSC London, UK too…that most likely sometime in 2022 the oyster will be available to purchase separately. I couldn’t wait however and got PCL put on a spare 97200 sub bracelet that I had. Fits perfectly with GMT spring bars.

My AD allows me to purchase whichever bracelet I was without trading the other is. As long as it is a bracelet compatible with a watch that I currently own.

It seems to me that Rolex USA has different rules than the rest of the world. It is a separate entity, so it is quite possible, just like the case with spare parts for the 1500-series movements.

Cool, so I am in the same boat as you. I'm cool with waiting as well. As long as I'm able to purchase one in the future. I absolutely love mine on the jubilee and quite frankly believe it looks better - I have a very weird reason for wanting the oyster so bad haha
