Losing interest in Rolex after browning pateks

Just no comparison... but what do I get as a beater... was considering Rolex to fit the bill... now not sure...

Any thoughts or recommendations

Maybe wrong forum, but between Rolex and Ap. Maybe the 37mm royal oak white dial

Submariner is out. Not a fan

Rolex and Patek go perfectly together. Don't give up either.

I know you're joking, but as a watchmaker I have seen some seriously filthy watches. Even very expensive ones.

Sorry guys...

What’s an option as a beater watch... that’s the question... wouldn’t want to use Patek for work...

Again as in other threads I’d like new Daytona but getting tired of waiting

My end game is Nautilus blue / Aquanaut and 116500 as a beater (just the Daytona to find) however I guess using a Daytona with PCLs as a beater might not work

OK....to answer your question (seriously), I've been in the same boat. I've chosen the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600 Titanium as my "beater". I wear it at the water parks and beaches, playing soccer, working in the yard, taking the kids to whatever they're involved with, doing the laundry, etc. To be honest, I don't wear my Patek or my Rolex or my Zenith for any of those things, even if I could. The Omega is a great all-around "beater".

if you are considering an AP as i beater then price isnt a huge issue. Honestly i would pick a WG daytona on OF. Cant beat the durability of a Rolex movement and the rubber makes the watch good for pretty much anything.

Why dont you wear your Patek at work? Thats where most people wear it.

Funny I was thinking getting stainless and putting on the rubber. I love the Daytona, but in stainless but how much longer do I have to wait

If I didnt have a Aquanaut I would prob go for the PM Daytona on Oysterflex.

Sounds daft but I didnt want two watches on rubber straps in a 3 watch collection

Do you mind dings and scratches on the bezel? Six month wait times for service? When you say 'beater', please define your activity level. Will it be 24/7 wear or just for those special days as a 'beater'? More info please.

Simply no juxtaposition . . . for that which I would once wear as on any other day . . . . would be a watch so sweet as the one made for thee . . . once rolex . . . now patek

What thoughts! What revelation!

Possibly a different thread . . . but betwixt such luxuries . . . who could decide?

Rolex?

AP?

Perhaps a bejeweled Daytona is that which we seek?

To revitalize our passions.

To resurrect our fandom?

Or no . . .

no . . .

no . . .

This is a good plan if you don't want to go for the WG OF Daytona first.

My interest in Rolex as an everyday watch has gone up, not that PPs and APs can't be awesome everyday watches. Depends on each person's everyday activities and to what activities one will intentionally or unintentionally subject one's watch.

You should consider the Patek 5522 steel pilot. It’s rugged and builds on their proud tradition of having made at least 2 examples of pilot watches in their past.
