Tour de Cure ride

Have to brag about my wife a bit. She's not really a bike rider, but is a Type 1 diabetic, so she decided to ride this year's Seattle Tour de Cure on the 40 mile route (which was really 44 miles). She trained exclusively on the trainer because of the wet winter we've had, but did just fine on the ride. After riding the first 3.5 miles with her rear brake dragging, we fixed that and averaged 11.2 miles for the route.

Our team (Team Freedom; as in freedom from insulin dependency) raised a bit over $2700 for the ADA and were the 7th highest friends and family team in the event this year. The weather was perfect, the route fun and the team a blast to ride with, as we all were out there to ride and support Tricia, rather than going for any land speed records. Great way to spend a Sunday.

And this was after our daughter kicked butt in the Jr Ski to Sea race on the MTB leg Saturday, and was the first girl finisher and in the top 10 finishers overall! A great bike riding weekend for the ladies in the house!

That's amazing and I thank you for raising the money you did. My young daughter is type 1 as well, and anything that can help make her life easier and more comfortable is my personal goal. Great job!
