I have recently bought a Fifty Fathoms (2011) for a very reasonable price.

To say I am astonished by the finish and general quality of this time piece would be an understatement.

It truly is magnificent and a definite step up from my Rolex.

I would love to know your guys and girls views on Blancpain as a brand in general? I won't be letting this baby go!

I love the watch, great strap, bezel is amazing in person. I know they make the chrono also, but I like the version you have better. Clean dial. Lots of history too, what's not to love, and I own a SubC.

Welcome aboard my friend! I fell in love with the Fifty Fathoms and it has turned me into a true fan of Blancpain. I started with the Tribute to Aqualung and regretted moving it the minute it left. I couldn't track another one down so I picked up the "standard " Fifty Fathoms.

As you're seeing, everything about this watch is executed well. The size, the fit, the finish, the accuracy, the lume...everything. I'll never dump mine again and am looking to add other Blancpains as well.

One of the best benefits of the watch is the boutique service. I've always been treated well and taken care of whether visiting, purchasing, or servicing. You'll never see another in the wild! Enjoy!!

A great watch, that model is one of the most iconic models in its class too. I grabbed one of these but I like Sea Dweller 116600 better therefore I didn't buy one of these

FF is great.. definitely a step up from a sub IMO.

With that being said, I do think a sub is a staple to any collection and having a both is kind of redundant. I picked the sub over the FF. If I only have one watch (or had many more) a FF would be in my possession.

I had the Ltd. Edition Tribute to Aqualung a while back…. Awsome piece but a bit big for me so moved it fairly quickly. Build quality is outstanding and it really is a stunner in the metal…. For me the “Normal” FF is far too shiny with its polished case and sapphire bezel, which is why I initially went for the TTAL instead…

i had this watch and loved it but found the strap problematic. in short it got wet (it is a divers watch) and then it got smelly. replacing it all the time was a bit pricey. it made me really appreciate the bracelet on my hulk. aesthetically i thought it looked great on the sail strap and not so much on the bracelet. i know it sounds like a non-issue but it undermined my enjoyment of the watch. i guess a factor is that i live in sydney and i am a hot person, often getting a bit sweaty.

other than that it was a real treat and i loved it's size, the finish, the eccentricity of the watch. the lume was wonderful!

I agree. It's a fantastic watch. I have the LE 40mm version and use it on the steel bracelet. Here's a comparison with my sea dweller.

Love the FF. It has become my must have next watch. I originally was going to get the hulk next, but already having the DSSD Blue I want more iconic brands in my very small collection. I have yet to try one on in person but having a 47mm Panerai 0389 Submersible it should easily fit my wrist. I believe it is a similar size to the Omega Seamaster PO 45mm. Is this correct?
