How's this 16750? Was meant to be.

After a 3 month plus journey following this watch get passed between dealers, somehow it was meant to be mine I guess.

First it popped up on on one sale site needing a service.

Then it was sold, serviced, and featured on a second dealer's website. Sat there for a while before moving to a 3rd dealer.

When I saw it pop up for a 3rd time I thought this watch is meant for me. It keeps finding me.

Additionally, I felt confident buying this GMT knowing it was handled and vetted by 3 vintage dealers in the know, and was serviced by a reputable vintage Rolex watchmaker.

So now the real test comes, showing the vintage experts here on TRF! How's this GMT 16750, how did I do?

It's weird being the same age as old people.

Nice-looking 16750. Keep an eye on that small lume crack on the GMT hand. Wondering if it might be a candidate for having it stabilized at some point.

I saw this watch when it was most recently listed. The service paper had an odd description about a crack on the minute hand, not GMT hand. Hmmmmm .....

Beautiful looking dial and nice vivid insert.
Love the case but it looks polished IMO.
How does the handset react to UV ? All 4 hands have the same reaction ?

Congrats !

yes you are correct. i know the watchmaker somewhat so i'm not too worried. the crack was on the gmt hand and you're right... wasn't stabilized so i guess not a big deal. i can always wander over there sometime to ask him because my office is nearby. for now I am avoiding mountain biking while wearing it as to not shock and further crack the tritium!

of the 3 dealers who have handled this piece since summer. #1 did not state case polished/unpolished which is how they operate, #2 dealer stated possibly unpolished, and #3 dealer stated unpolished. Of course the opinions are often or always subjective but I think we all can agree case is strong? that's good enough for me.

afterall, the watch was indeed polished from new at the Rolex factory!

As said, polished or not, I love the case ;)
Have you checked the handset with a UV light ?

Hey Fizz, I've seen you post a few times here lately. Maybe when you have time, check your private messages. I sent one a while ago and never heard back from you.
