Turks and Caicos - any recommendations?

The family and I are planning a trip to Turks and Caicos. We've never been there before, so I'm hoping the forum has recommendations. Any particular beach that is better than others? Restaurants or other things we shouldn't pass up?

Thanks in advance!

But the discounts average 20%ish every time I go.

As for the island, are you looking to rent a house, a room somewhere or something else? Grace Bay is the best known beach and it's earned that reputation. There's windsurfing on Long Bay beach. It's an expensive island so plan in that and US dollars is the standard currency.

I've been quite a few times. In fact, I just got back. Picked up a beaut of an IWC and a nice MB pen for a fair discount.

Make a reservation two weeks in advance for Coconut Grove. It's the hottest place on the island for years. The food is super. But it's the ambiance you pay for. It's very beautiful and worth it. If you try to book a red when you arrive, you won't get in.

And go to the reed in front of the somewhere bar. It's a great little Mexican joint. But you can walk right into the reef and see turtles, lobsters, lion fish and tons of schools. We go back specifically for this.

The island is super expensive. I recommend going to the grocery store to pick up some snacks. I did not do it this last time, and it cost me.

It's a really great island. Have fun.

Spent almost a year commuting back and forth between home and Provo/Grand Turk. Provo a larger island, nonstop flights with many amenities (and a good Rolex AD). Grand Turk a laid back, easy going, everyone knows everyone place. Both, lovely!

Was there back in March stayed at Seven Stars which was a great resort.

Grace Bay is the popular beach however, Long Bay is calmer.

We had great food at Crackpot Kitchen, Seven, Parallel 23 and Cocovan

Have not been yet, but I asked my wife (she is a travel advisor) and she recommends:

Amanyara
Luxury
Adjacent to Malcolm's Beach
Away from the action of Grace Bay
Secluded
Zen-like resort

Grace Bay
Luxury
Kid-Friendly with kids program for those under 17
Grace Bay Beach is fantastic

Gansevoort
Luxury
Adults, not great for kids
on Grace Bay Beach
sexy hip vibe (South Beach vibe)

Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa
All-Inclusive
Moderate budget
great kids programming and amenities
Grace Bay Beach

Happy to ask her for more info if you need it.
