Odds of finding the original box and paperwork?

Hi All, I'm extremely happy to say I finally acquired my first Rolex during this past Black Friday shopping extravaganza; 2006, D Serial Datejust TURN-O-GRAPH, Black dial, 18KWG bezel, and jubilee bracelet. Other than my vintage GP, I have never purchased a preowned watch, therefore I'm used to having the original box and all the paperwork with the watch. The watch was from a reputable jeweler that services and takes Rolex as trade-ins. They resell them with 2-year warranty. So what are my chances of finding the original box and paperwork for this watch? If possible how would I start to go about finding them? I know I probably shouldn't have bought the watch without at least the original paperwork, but it was a good deal I couldn't pass up....

x2.
Most non-watch guys could care less about B & P and would throw them out right after purchasing.
Forget about it and enjoy the TOG.

You have better odds of winning the lottery, being struck by lightning, all while standing on the moon.

you cant wear a box ,,, well not a rolex box , just enjoy the watch , and smile at the savings you made , and ask if a card box is really worth the thousands you saved

Odds of finding the original box and paperwork?

I think the others have covered the chances of finding the original paperwork. The boxes that would be period correct and appropriate for the TOG in 2006 may be found in the Internet but as others said - be careful and you can't wear a box.

Being sure the watch is all original is the more important thing for a new Rolex buyer who acquires a pre-owned watch (even from a reputable jeweler).

Although it has a warranty for 2 years, what guarantee do you have that the bracelet belongs with that watch? Is the crown and bezel and crystal genuine Rolex or aftermarket?

While you are within your rights to return it for a refund, maybe a trip to the NYC RSC is a good idea. That way you'll know the watch is all original.

Since you got a deal too good to pass up, your best bet if you want paperwork is to trade or flip towards a watch that has it. The rest of the stuff is not specific to a particular watch and can be found.

You'll never find that paperwork. Your chances are very very slim

Overpriced, missing the insert and the outer box, and too old for the OP's watch.

All true. No chance if the seller didn't have them. If you decide you must have some paper, send it to Rolex for a service and then you'll have paper on it. I would just wear and enjoy that until service is needed then do that. Correct boxes and associated items of a new sale will come at a considerable relative cost. It won't make the wearing any better.

Congrats on your watch. Welcome aboard.

Your chances of actually "needing" the box is better, though only slightly, than finding the box.

Enjoy the watch!

Boxes and papers...highly overrated on a watch that's past warranty...collectible vintage excepted. Enjoy your "new" watch! That's what counts.

True True. I figure the only time I would need one would be if I ever decide to sell it...Well it would present "nicer" if I had the box et al., but I plan on keeping the TOG....As I have all my other watches...When not in use she'll most likely be sitting in the watch winder with the others anyway. I just have a stack of watch boxes sitting on a shelf...Unfortunately, my first acquisition's box, Omega Seamaster mid auto, stuck to the manual and parts of the outer box and a layer peeled off some sections of the display box

Thanks! for the welcome!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes and the honest reality that I'll "have better odds of winning the lottery, being struck by lightning, all while standing on the moon." So I'm moving on.....I'm just gonna "let it go, let it go...." and just enjoy her. Thanks again y'all!

Cheers! And Happy Holiday Season!

Well a box is just a box and its pot luck to whatever the AD has on shelf at point of sale. There is no specific box for most models what paperwork are you talking about,if its the warranty paper/card well that will be long expired and most probably binned. Next time you have a RSC service you will get service paper/card with all the watch information on and that will act like a valid two year warranty.

Congrats! Take it in for service at an RSC and you will have service paperwork, just as good.
