5513 Submariner Bezel...

I just bought a used 5513 Submariner, when I took it to the AD to get serviced, he rotated the bezel and it did not make a sound. Is this a defect or something that can be fixed? First Submariner and kinda paranoid it is not authentic. However, before I bought the watch it went to a certified Rolex watch repair specialist and confirmed it was authentic, as far as he could tell. Any comments would be greatly appreciated....

Early Subs have a friction bezel and don't make any noise (no clicks).. They turn in both directions and are unlocked by pressing down on the bezel firmly.....

Tools...thank you for the information....since it is a diving watch I thought "the click" was locking it in...which is important if diving, but pressing down to unlock the bezel is ingenious.....thanks again.

As Larry said you're fine. The 120 click uni-directional bezel made it's debut on the reference 16800.

Plastic crystal = No click's
Sapphire crystal = Click's

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.
