Rolexes Trade for AP
Hi All,
i am in major dilemma and I need your help and suggestion. Should I trade my Rolex Daytona White dial (116520), Submariner (!4060M) and Explorer 2 Black (16570) for AP ROO Chrono Navy brand new? I am dig the look of the AP for quite some time now and I am afraid that I will regret for doing this. What do you think guys? Am I crazy enough to swap 3 watches into 1 watch? |

I personally wouldn't trade all three, the 14060 & 116520 are classics and be aware reaquiring would be hard and a costly venture.
Also having one Rolex in the camp will partner nicely with a ROO, so maybe decide between the Sub and Daytona then flip the remaining to for the ROO I'm not a fan of the 116520 much prefer the 116500, so for me the Daytona & ExpII would go for the ROO |

Is the AP new, new? Like 26470st new? That watch goes for ~16k USD pre-owned - so if you estimate the value of your three watches combined to be less than that, then go for it. I have the grey version and love it.

But after I trade the 3 Rolexes, I still have BLNr and Portuguese Chrono. I won't sell these 2 watches as these 2 are gifts. What do you think. |

I would because you still have the blnr which would be my favorite of that bunch anyways. Have you tried the ROO on?

I sold my 116520, Milghauss and 36mm DayDate to buy a 15400 and an SS Diver. I still had my old TT Sub, GMTc and Explorer II.
I was no longer into any of the three that I sold, and really enjoyed my venture into the world of Haute Horologie, but a year later I flipped the two APs for my BLRO. That was just over a year ago, and I know I did the right thing (for me). As always, the secret is to buy correctly. That way you won't lose a ton of money if you change your mind.

3 seems a lot to give up, I would keep the Sub as Sam says and look to get a good discount on the ROO or buy used in mint condition. If you were going for a 44mm then I'd trade all 3.

Sounds like you want some bling now lol the ROO Navy is a cool piece. I'd say give it a go. If you got bored of Rolex, AP is a good path.

From a value perspective, that is not a good trade.

From a value point of view you are basically buying the AP for RRP when it can be had at a discount.
If the ease of the transaction is worth this money then do it, but if you are willing to spend some time/effort you can probably sell 2 to fund a BNIB example. |

Doesn't seem like a good trade, if it was to get the ceramic diver 42mm or a 44m ROO I would say yes, but not for the Navy, seems too expensive and not worth it to me

I am sorry I thought you meant to SELL those and fund the purchase. Haha hey I'll go get you and ROO and I'll trade for those 3. Did you go on eBay??? You can get ROO for 12k-15k. What are you thinking? Lol |

He is talking about a brand new 42 blue. Point me in the direction of them for 12-15k and I'll buy one! That said, like most APs, secure a strong discount, buy LNIB or keep forever!
