completely lost the crown protection

Hello, as you see the crown protection is totally lost.
Where can I make it repair without going to the Panerai Shop at Florence, which would cost an eye..

Any hint?

Thanks a lot

Do you mean it came off and you still have the parts, or you lost the parts? If the former, I would think you or any watchmaker could screw if back together. If the latter, you'll need to go through Panerai to get OEM parts. Good luck.

A friend just went through this and the AD told him that the watch would have to be returned to Panerai for the part. Panerai also required a service as the watch had not been serviced in over 10 years. Total cost, $800.00.

I feared this, but wanted to be sure.

You can tell your friend 1 of 2 things, depending on your friend.

1. Save your money and just get another replica.
2. Sorry bro, you have a replica.

I thought it looked funny from profile picture, but the movement pic confirmed.

This will be a bad news for my friend, because it was a gift he received.

I will inform him about your consideration.
Thanks for the information!

by the way, the avatar doesn't matter : it's a mix between a Seamaster 300 and an Explorer.

Before giving the bad news I want to understand how you see this. From the photo I would presume it's a OP II 17J, Unitas based. What's wrong with the one here?

I looked now on chrono24 and saw the difference between the movements.
This will be a bitter pill to digest.

Thanks for your help and sharing.

TRF doesn't like to discuss fakes. It is just something you learn over time. When I saw the profile picture of your first picture I could tell it was off. The dial and movement confirmed it for me.

Mfer, you mean OP use his friend's 127 photo as his profile picture? Sorry I am confused.

Hello, I've done my homework now and understood, that it is a replica
http://timetapestry.blogspot.de/2007...nerai-127.html

The 117/1950 on the caseback and the different movements show clearly, that it isn't a real PAM00127.

Thanks to you all - and now the hard part: Tell him ...

I didn't understand too, why the profile picture matters ...

And, if not here, where alse someone can learn und understand?

I didn't know that the watch wasn't authentic, I tried to help some one less "in watches"
