I actually think 2 is the perfect number.

Patek 3940 for daily wear and Rolex Sub for rough stuff.

Or, if you're more suited to a steel watch for daily wear, then Patek 5726 as daily, and Calatrava for dressy occasions.

Might be nice to throw in a vintage watch of some kind that speaks to your heart, depending on how much you want to rotate.

The way things unfolded for me, I've ended up with three, and I'll probably be done with four. (See prior post for my details). So far, I've managed to attach significant sentiment to the three I have, which makes them more valuable to me than their monetary value. Like Warren Buffet, I'm not a flipper.

I have two but my favorite is my YachtMaster 40mm. I could never see me re-selling it or parting ways with it. Its the perfect watch for me.
