Chaps

Mrs Mick and I are soon off to Italy for a grand tour and as I will be sitting in Venetian gondola one week and sipping a cappuchino in St Peters Square the next, I need to look cool. Hence I am asking you younger guys which watch should I wear to look sexy.

Now I know you are watch enthusiasts and not magicians, but I would never the less appreciate your advice.

For insurance reasons I can only take one watch and I have decided it's got to be either the 16520 Daytona or the 1655 Frecionne, both shown below.

They both look like an old mans watch, so at least I cannot be accused of being mutton dressed as lamb.

So which one should I take ?

Your fashion advice will be much appreciated.

I am angling towards the Daytona but does it look a bit to jazzy ?

Be very careful taking either of those to Italy as a tourist. But the Ex II would fit in very nicely for sure.

Sad to say I had my Hulk stolen from my Genoa hotel. Then in Venice I bought the Milgauss off the Grand Canal.
Replaced the Hulk when I got back.

Rolex is very prevalent throughout Italy, much more so than in any other country I've visited. Seemed every other man I saw in the towns along he Amalfi Coast last year was wearing a Rolex and I saw a great number of Rolex in Rome in 2012. As others have said, be careful wearing a Rolex as a tourist.
Also, while in Rome try to visit Watches in Rome. So many awesome vintage Rolex models.
It's an amazing country. Florence is definitely my favorite of all the parts of the country I've visited. Have a great trip!

Both of those pieces have something of an Italian connection, but I would take the Exp II simply because it is the cooler of the two.

I've had a blast in Italy over the years; I love the food in particular.

Although the explorer has the useful features of a date and is vintage cool, I would take the Daytona. It is just a cooler watch for travelling, and if you go for a swim, it may be less likely to have water ingress.
Always keep the watch on your wrist, don't leave it in your hotel room. Don't go to any dark dodgy areas where you might be mugged.

I have gone very much to Italy and without problems.
Nevertheless in Detroit They stole a necklace.
