I struggled with the same dilemna for a while and in the end opted for the Oyster. In my opinion it gives it a more modern, sporty, elegant look. A beautiful, classic watch.

Both would be a great choice together with the fluted bezel. Though my least favourite out of the Rolex bracelets, i would go with the Jubilee on this one, to have the complete DJ experience. On the other hand, i get you wanting the best from Rolex on this watch, and yes, the Oyster bracelet is top notch, strong links, adjustable and youthful. Together with the fluted bezel, you would get a nice balance between classic and freshness. Can't go wrong with either, it just depends on how you feel best with one or the other. However, get what you like, don't let other people's tastes influence you.
Do post pictures when you'll get it. Good luck

get the non jubilee one. People will think it is a white gold or platinum. With the jubilee you know it is a stainless.

I have the exact watch with the oyster bracelet. Looks much more modern and more fitting with your age. Anyone that thinks fluted and oyster is odd should look at the new SS skydweller... rolex seems to think that combo is fine!

I almost always prefer an Oyster bracelet but not in this case. Jubilee it is!

The fluted/jubilee combo is no doubt the purist classic DJ. However, my personal preference is the fluted/oyster which imo brings a modern twist to a true classic. It is also more versatile which can be more easily dressed up or down.

I tend to like smooth bezel with oyster and fluted bezel with jubilee. Have the smooth oyster combo now.

I personally prefer the jubilee.
Scratches will be less pronounced over time, seems dressier, more classic.

The fluted bezel screams for a jubilee bracelet. The hidden clasp on the 6 digit models looks really nice. This is the combination that stays truest to how the watch was designed. The oyster bracelet gives the watch a sportier look while the jubilee looks much more formal. I would go for jubilee and get the oyster on a professional watch or a DJ41/DJ2 later on.

They both look great!!! I love the feel of the Jubilees but the oysters hold up better in the long term if that is of concern.

SS, fluted bezel and Jubilee, will last you a lifetime. Classic Rolex watch. Oyster bracelet looks to much like any number of Seiko watches that are out there.

For your first i'd go with the classic Jubilee.

I find that my jubilee bracelet is ageing better than my oyster bracelet and certainly hides the scratches better too.
