Owning multiple Speedmasters

My Speedmaster purchased in July 2007 has been my most worn watch the past years. But, most recently I've been tempted to purchase one of the newer special ceramic Speedmasters like the Grey Side or the Dark Side versions. I'm not a flipper. I'm curious to know if there are a few people out there who have more than 3 Speedmasters from the past 10 years. Are they different enough?

I have 3 Speedmasters.
(1) Dark Side of the Moon
(2) Apollo 11 Moon Landing 40th anniversary (manual)
(3) Michael Schumacher The Legend

They are all VASTLY different.

Having said that, you can only wear one watch at a time.

MOST people only wear one at a time. Buzz Aldrin is known to wear two Speedies on one bracelet and another on his other wrist.

At one point I had seven, having started with a 92 861, then added in no particular order a Speedy Tuesday, an Ultraman, CK2998, a Blue Tokyo a manual wind moon phase moon watch and a 60th anniversary. I'm now down to the original 92, Speedy Tuesday and 60th which for me are all different enough to keep. I'd say a ceramic would be significantly different and a nice addition.

Yes they are and if you love them I'd say do it. Owning multiples of the same model always made sense to me, but I only found peace with multiple black Subs. At one point in the past I had more than six Seamasters but for some reason I don't know my Speedmasters were sold very quickly. Maybe to me that's why they're called Speedmasters lol

Each speedmaster has its own personality and character. Multiple can live in the same watch box!

Collecting is a person thing and I like it when a collector goes deep in a watch brand or model. Having multiples of a similar model with slight variations to dials, cases, bracelets, ect. is fun. At one point I had all of the variations of the Rolex Divers. It was fun for a minute and then I moved on. The Speedmaster is a great watch, get as many as you want and enjoy them.

The black dial is the Hesalite speedmaster, the other three (panda, blue and platinum sunrise) are the Tokyo olympics limited edition

I assume you are asking me.

None, that I am aware of.
So, now I am sure you are more confused.
I will try and explain my insanity.

I got into watches in 1990. I bought the Shugart and Engle Watch price guide and memorized values of watches.

I looked through all the photos as well and decided what watches I would like to have, and made a small list.
They were the Man on the Moon Speedmaster, Red Sea Dweller, Milgauss 1019, Longines Lindbergh 44mm, Panerai Rolex , and Rolex Tru-Beat.

I searched and I searched in my area and could not find anything near this type of watch.
So I finally decided to go to a NAWCC show in Chicago. Saw a red Sea Dweller, but a little too rich for me at $2,000. I saw several Speedmasters but they were rough and priced at $400. A little to much for the condition.
I finally found a nice clean example for $700, which was overpriced and I think the seller was shocked when I dished out the money. I figured it may only be worth $500, but I could spend $200 easily trying to run allover finding another one.

It has always been the perfect chronograph to me. Not to plain, not to busy.
A crisp contrast between the white and black. The slightly turned lugs. In my mind a better watch than the Daytona at a fraction of the price. Just put them side by side, how can you compare.

After that when ever I came across one and I thought it was reasonably priced I bought it.
The most I have paid for any of these was $3,000 and that was for a CK2998 with dauphine hands. The others I have less than $1,500 each in.

So back to the 2 Mark II's? Whats the difference? I paid $1,000 or $1,200 for one that was just serviced and I paid $25 for the other one. That's why I have 2.
