Let me ask you this. Is it < 1% the quality of a Submariner because it is < 1% of the price. You don't need to answer that because I already know the answer but it is an interesting question that may prompt some lively debate. Thanks for the heads up.

I am not saying that this Invicta is a great quality watch, but several of my friends that do own Rolex Subs have purchased this Invicta and gave them as gifts. I for one, do not like the Quartz movement, but this is a nice gift for my father who has never owned a watch that cost more than a $50. He is just not in to watches at all. And hey for $50, you can throw it away when the battery runs out!
Happy Father's Day to all.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm certainly not implying anything negative about the Invicta. I just find it interesting that some watchmakers can make a quality watch similar to a Rolex and I wonder sometimes about quality vs. price when it comes to Rolex or any higher end watch. Obviously, there are significant differences between the watches but is a Rolex Sub worth well over 100 times the Invicta and is the quality 100x? I would say it is obviously not. Is the Invicta under priced or is a Rolex overpriced?
I love my Rolex but it is just something that I debate at times. Anyway I didn't mean to get this thread off track. Invicta's are great watches and I'm sure your dad will be very pleased with a very nice watch.

I saw stacks and stacks of those Invictas at Costco..
Regarding non-Rolex watch quality, the interweb's a great place to do research. There are a lot of people on various forums who have good, bad, indifferent experiences with all brands. I realized that there are WIS who are are very passionate about non-Rolex. I don't mean Omega either. Eddie Platt's Precista, Bill Yao's MKII, O&W, Damasko, Sinn, Marathon. These tend to be cult brands with loyal followings who swear by these brands. |

It might look like a Rolex from 100 yards but that is where the similarity ends.
