Advice on Sub 114060 - Genuine or Fake?

Hi Folks,

Long-time lurker and I am finally in the position of acquiring my first Rolex.
Have my eye on this Rolex from a local seller, but want to have it passed for authenticity before I fully commit given the quality of good fakes in the market.

The serial # at the 6 o'clock matches the receipt - how hard is it to fake a receipt? - make subsequent fakes from a real serial? (sorry, if being uber paranoid)

Thanks in advance!

Are you a long way from home?

Are all the stickers in place.

Pix of the bracelet etc?

From what I can see and compared to mine you should be ok but I would need to see more details.

All I'd say is Ben Bridge is a very reputable AD for Rolex. Take it in and verify...

Hi, thanks for the replies from everyone.

I'm from Melbourne, Australia. and the seller is based here, purchased the watch from the US earlier this year.

No stickers as it is preowned but comes with hangtag, warranty card, booklet

Any additional photos I should be asking for?

Was sent this picture for the bracelet

I would call Ben Bridge and verify the purchase. If at that point the serials match as you said I would feel pretty confident. The Ben Bridge receipt looks legit (shop there often) and unless an employee of Ben Bridge put a replicas serial number in the system (can't see this happening) it would not match your watch. No one would be able to custom order a replica to match a receipt serial number. Most of the replicas use the same serial numbers over and over so it would be very rare to find a legit receipt with a matching replicas serial.

If you look hard enough you can see red flags on a NIB time piece sitting in an AD shelf.

Looks good to me ; source keyboard warrior.
On another note - the first few pictures look like I am entering the matrix.

Don't see any issues.

Receipt also looks legit. If the serial numbers match and you give BB a call to verify, it should be good.

Even the slightly misaligned crown at 12 rehaut is slightly to the right where they always seem to be.

If any doubt, maybe ask for a RSC service and pay 50% upfront and the remaining balance paid when the watch returns to you. Cost of service can be discussed.

The bezel numbers look like white paint to me rather than platinum PVD? I think we will need to see better pictures.

That is if you can find a sports model on a AD SHELF.

Ummm sapphire crystal seems to be sitting higher than it should. I'm looking at my 618 and the crystal is pretty much almost flush with the bezel insert. Also markers seem a bit too white, but both could just be the angle the pictures are taken.

Corners on the clasp looks sharp, not finished well. The area where the flip lock portion looks soldered on with a rough finish.

The watch looks fake to me the more I look at it. The bezel knurls are matt or unfinished..and there is a sandblasted finish under the buckle that shouldn't be there. The markers on the bezel are white paint too and the lettering on the dial could be sharper.

If in doubt..there is no doubt. Avoid.

I do catch a glimpse of the LEC at 6 o'clock in the second photo. Not sure if it should be that easy to see, or if the photographer just got lucky with the angle and lighting in the pic.

seems more and more people are claiming 'fake' or "suspicious"
Note - I am not claiming its FAKE - impossible to authenticate or deny, just that there are issues that need closer checking.
Meaning if I was OP or buying it, I would want further checking.

Here is the problem. The pictures could be of an actual legit watch.....that was copied/pasted by the scammer and presented as their own. After almost 20 years I bought my second Rolex with the knowledge gained here.

Find a watch from a trusted AD. Call the trusted AD with the phone number listed on their website via Google etc, not what an online ad says. Reverse google the phone number to make sure you get a bunch of hits that come back to the trusted AD. Get the details on how to complete the transaction from the person on the phone.

Option B, pay a few bucks to a trusted AD to authenticate and ship the watch for the seller or both parties meet in person at AD.

With all that said, in this case, I would call BB to verify the purchase. If the serial numbers match up in person to what BB said, I would be happy.
