I like this 6-watch holder from Houndsbay. (NOT an affiliate link). I own one and love it. Not too pricey, has a nice top glass-panel for viewing, and construction feels good. Plus, it has a nice drawer to store your other stuff (straps, rings, cuff links, whatever) and a valet for keys, phone, wallet. Perfect on a bedside table.

I use Wolf, they pretty good quality but on a more expensive end.
For traveling I use Hodinkee's Moulded Leather Case, they very very good quality cases but honestly too expensive.

OK, so I received the Houndsbay, 10-piece unit and returned it.
The “pillows” were large and stiff, and I could not put my watch around it without feeling the band would be stretched very tight.

So back to square one, any other suggestions? Not Wolf, don’t want to spend that kind of money. Thanks.

I recently purchased a Wolf 8 piece box for $400 after taxes. It is well built and great quality. I would not buy something cheap as the build quality reflects the watch storage aspect was an "after thought"

I am sure that the Wolf box is absolutely beautiful and made like a tank. I am not looking to store in a tank, just a nice box, glass lid, and soft cushions as not to stretch metal, leather and rubber straps. I just ordered this one from Amazon which I think will do the job....

I have a Wolf Windsor 10 piece box. Keep an eye out for Wolf sales if you have an interest. They have big sales of 40% off or more throughout the year, especially Black Friday.

The one in this link has the same kind of cushions, in fact most of them do.

The only problem I can see would be your watch not fitting around them if you have a wrist on the smaller size.

Beyond that you need to think about what you are saying, a cushion of the sort found in any watch box is not going to stretch metal. Most bracelet stretch is caused by the watch being worn loose.

Jim,
I think these cushion are softer and more pliable, I could be wrong. I am concerned about my Cartier Santos which has a rubber strap. It is thin most of the way, and I can see it stretching from natural wear.

Quite often the sides are cardboard (presumably, but something reasonably rigid) and the middle section is a dense kind of foam.

The box in your link looks good though and should work out without and damage to the straps.

I made my own watch box. I'm a hobbyist carpenter. It doesn't have pillows, just individual sections for each watch. Pictures attached.

These Houndsbay guys: let me vent for a second here, please.

A "Texas" company, which some might mean "made in America" and it never clearly states that. I'll bet anyone here a dollar that their stuff is made in Asia. Nothing wrong with that, per se, but let's be honest and clearly state what is what, especially for those of us who would prefer domestic manufacturing.

Also, the founders, Jim and John (or whatever, I already forgot) are not proud enough of their company to list their full names, just the first names. That's always bugged me. What, are you afraid I'm going to look you up in the phone book and call you one night to ask why my shoe tree broke?

OK, rant off.

That is really a nice box. I see you are very handy, congrats.

I order this Glencor from Amazon for $39.99. Received today and loaded it up with a few of my watches. It looks and feels like a much more expensive unit. It has a solid weight to it, made well, and the pillows seem to be good quality, squeezy enough not to stretch rubber or leather straps.
