U.K. Rolex availability

We've all heard how hard it is to source a ss sports Rolex at the moment in the UK since the brexit.
I'd be interested to hear from our UK members what the availability is like on the gold models,Daytona, day date etc.
Also, any discount over there on gold models

From what I've found most gold models are available, most chain stores can move models from branch to branch within a couple of days so can't see there being much of an issue.

As for discount I've found around 10% to be where most are quoting, 15% plus used to be doable but haven't got close the that recently but this is with me showing interest I've not purchased yet so never really pushed them to go past the 10% mark.

Although my AD had a YG40mm DD in stock with the black diagonal motive, I wanted the Silver dial with Romans, it is an order from Rolex, delivery suggested as sometime in November

The UK has always been quite difficult to source certain models in the sports range in SS and has nothing to do with Brexit.

That's only next month? Could be worse look at the SS Daytona etc

All the DD40's I enquiried about the AD's had in stock (or at another branch) but that was the WG with Rhodium, green and blue dials plus the RG with both brown variant dials and the green.

Think you struggle with 20% now!

You'll obviously benefit from the weak sterling but now about duty? You'll claim it back leaving the UK is there any to pay bringing it back into Aus?

And thanks yeah loving the Daytona, I was first on my AD's list had a little hiccup with them but they came good in the end

I just remember a couple of years back 20% was a normal discount for gold I thought.
Yes,10% duty when you land back in Oz.
Still could be worthwhile on 15%,is the smurf readily available over there?

Very true! Change of times I'm afraid!

Actually remember getting all my SS models at 20% via EU AD's a couple of years back!

116619LB is available all the time at London ADs, same goes for 116710BLRO and just about any other precious metal models.

You should try and locate one first. That's the challenge and the first step.

I would say none mate and that's me speaking from experience and based in Scotland where discounts should in theory be easier to obtain than London. I walked past Rolex ADs every day and they have gone from decent supply to pretty much nothing. Although two tones are available - just no discount

Well since I ordered it in September and AD says could be the end of November, that's 2 months

At least my other 3 purchases were in stock and I walked out with them

Walked into an AD yesterday, they had both a Sub C non date and date plus a Sea Dweller. Tried them all on, and bought the SS Sub C non date. Chuffed to bits. No discount though, but did buy my wife a pair of earrings and got a good deal on those.

I was 'on the waiting list' for just over an hour this week before being offered a 114060, which I purchased.

I notice a few people saying that SS models have been obtained in the last few days. I wonder if the much talked about price rise is not going to happen and the watches are slowly coming out of the safe to be sold by AD's. ??

Just a thought

Hence me asking the above as I was told by Goldsmiths a big allocation came through from Rolex and was distributed down to its branches mid last week.

I know the sports steel are unobtanium at the moment but even the Oyster perpetual 36mm with a blue face arabic numerals was hard to source. I eventually found one in Dudley after ringing 12 AD's. I drove from Manchester this morning to collect it.

Maybe I got lucky but I rang one AD and had my sub within 3 days.

yep, very nice young lady helped me out and the lads I spoke to yesterday took the trouble to do me photos to confirm it was the dial I was looking for.

Nobbylon, a little off subject of the post, but I got the 36 mm OP with blue dial/numerals 3,6, 9 earlier this summer and really like it. Someone complimented my watch thinking at first it was an Explorer. Once he got a closer look, he said he liked it as much as his Explorer at home.

It is a very nice watch. This one is destined for a lady friend of my best mate in Amsterdam. Even with exchange it was 100 euro cheaper than Schiphol and a whopping 950 euro less than Nederlands list price. The blue dial is hard to source though so I'm glad I found one. The 36mm seems to be the new unisex size.
