I think most people would welcome a 10% price rise if Rolex made the sports models more freely available .

If the watches are already spoken for and held for someone on the waiting list then they would not be on display. That is assuming the dealer is in theory, "ethical". |

My husband just bought a GMT LN in Heathrow yesterday. The sales lady said they had a delivery on the day, according to her the blue (might be BLNR) was sold within 7 mins. so it was lucky we still managed to get the black one. They don't do deposit or prepay on those popular models, just first come first serve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was at an AD yesterday trying on the new EXP1 as staff admired my BLNR. They said BLNR is seriously hot just now and they won't even take a list. Whilst I was there I did feel a tiny bit smug as a man came in asking about a BLNR and staff basically telling him "no chance"

My local AD has good availability of SS models. I ordered a BLNR a month ago and got it last week, although they do have a 9 month waiting list for it, luckily I went to school with one of the partners. They get a SS Daytona in each month, but only once they have swiped the guarantee, but they have a 5 year waiting list so this won't be a problem for them. In terms of discount, none given on SS models, however they will give you a 15% bonus voucher for anything you buy there if you ask nicely. They do this promotion every November, but as I say, you can get them to extend this to any point of the year.

Yes....which dealer?
9 month wait on a BLNR is excellent. I waited over 6 months for mine when they were first released and demand hadn't gone sky high. |

I rang around a few other ADs in Manchester and all of them said they couldn't even put me on a waiting list for the Subc any more, so very glad I snapped this up, it came in today, and sign of the times that I didn't even think to ask for a discount.

I was in my Local AD yesterday , I asked about availability he said we have stock but don't put it in the window, (SS Sports) , He also said they was sick of Foreign clients calling in advance and have taken the stance of just saying NO Stock sorry.
My belief is if you are standing in store with your debit card out they will sell you anything they have at list . |

You thought about getting the DD40 before a price rise, obviously cash wise a rise on this will hurt more than on SS. |

Could of picked one up at just over 15k but it would require flipping my Daytona and buying/flipping another Daytona in the process, this would put me right at the back of any further SS Daytona purchases.

My local AD let me have the BLNR, they said the would rather sell it to me knowing that I would wear it than sell it to a carpetbagger who lives miles and miles away who would likely sell it on the grey market for a profit.

That's great, glad to pay it forward, we need to help each other out here until things normalise. I love this country, it's the best in the world, but recently I have been thinking I half wish I was American.

This might not be very useful but I saw one in the Oxford Goldsmiths a few weeks ago. The store manager there is very helpful and helped me get my Sub (with date) extremely quickly!
