Rolex BLNR Availability UK ?

Hi all,

Just checking is anyone else is in the market for the GMT II BLNR as I've called round every rolex dealer in the UK only to be told that there is an 18 month waiting list to get one !! Is this true. Ive seen that the price has increased from £5950 to £6500. It seems that they're very popular !!

Cheers,

They are popular and in short supply.. you likely won't find one off the shelf.

Price went up 10-11% across the entire range last week, UK increase only to reflect the value of the pound.

I thought the price increase would see them cropping up, but no, they are extremely scarce.
Luckily I got mine pre increase.

I believe we are stil the cheapest place to buy a Rolex without even factoring tax free.

So demand will still be there.

Cheaper for everyone else apart from us who live here

Very cheap at even £6500 (USD 8137.02). In US they are $8950 retail.

Going rate looks closer to 7K so will still be very scarce in ADs, popular Rolexes are now like a commodity on the futures market, a price rise has already been factored in.

Hi Olly, I'm not in the market for one but I've only ever seen it displayed in a UK dealer window once since its launch back in 2013.

There is an obvious shortage in the UK market going by the near daily threads on here and also from my regular visits to ADs. As you would have noticed the scarcity doesn't just apply to the BLNR but the other stainless steel sports models however this scarcity seems to only really affect the UK.

It's questionable whether we will ever see one ever displayed at an AD again with the increased demand. It's like the 116520 all over again.

I purchased one from an AD in March. I was on the waiting list for about 5/6 weeks before I got the call :-) :-) :-)

Might be advisable to look across the pond. Availability seems pretty good judging by the incomings here.

Hi Olly,

I'm in the UK and since the price increase on Tuesday everything's skyrocketed over list for anything with a waiting list! I know of one for sale at a non AD close to me. Kendrick and Sons from Brentwood have a brand new one but it's up for sale for £7800!

Hope this helps and good luck in your search!

CB

I've seen one for £7500 complete rip off imo. People are buying them to sell at a profit. They don't care of the watches beauty !!!

my blnr is one year old at the end of November and i have no intention of flipping her although i do like the sub "hulk" but not enough,,,,
i just wondered with an impending price rise then what sort of money are companys like Watchfinder going to sell these models at? bearing in mind that a watch similiar to mine is now £6950 +,,,,,,,
it seems like like prices are going to go even more silly especially if they dis-continue the BLNR,,,
Where will it end?,,,,just seems crazy at the moment,,,,
unworn ceramic daytonas in boutiques near to us go in days at £13,995,,,,
crazy!,,,,,,,jay

A few people have asked me if I'd sell mine and I did consider flipping my BLNR very recently...for an SDC or SDDS.

However I'm glad I have held onto it as even if I sold it for a profit I'd have to pay a premium to get one back if I got sellers remorse.

Due to the situation with Sterling I think there could be another price increase within the year, but you should OK for a few months. If I were you I'd get on the list at a few AD's and be patient. Good luck

I recently got my BLNR from a UK authorised dealer near my home.
I think the fact that my home address was near to the AD helped as they are probably wanting repeat custom from a local, and not someone who is buying the BLNR to sell for a profit.

The AD did not know it was coming until the day, when I got the call I was so happy, I went down there and picked it up as quick as I could. Its so beautiful.. It really is.

I have another 2 really expensive pieces but my BLNR has been getting 100% of my Rolex wrist time.
The hands and hour markers are all white gold, and it really pops in the light, and the steel is so highly polished and shiny. the watch has so many layers of beauty, its weird.. its like a really blingy watch in good lighting, but then it calms down in other lighting, its just so pretty. ive had so many comments of how beautiful it is.. Its so functional aswell, the GMT function allows 3 different time zones and is really easy to use..
The only slight negative I can think of is... you really need a watchwinder for the BLNR as its a bit of a chore to set the date window if you don't wear it for a while.. although, whilst setting it you get lots of interaction with the watch / movement which is nice..

Hope you can get one soon.. you will love it..

Yes, I'm on the waiting list. With the price going to 6650 the waiting list is the same.
We have to realize...if we are going to wear this watch for many years, the 700 pounds spread over this time period is not going to put us off..
Still want mine and will pay the 6650

I'm just messing about but it will certainly cut down on demand and prices will lower to reasonable levels. We'll have fun and games on the Coke as well but at least we will have double the GMT stock.

Some idea on demand in the UK.

Iconic Watches are now showing a new a BLNR at £7950. £1400 over list.
http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/rolex...16710blnr.html

Yet the LN is priced at £6100, £100 below list price.

I see them in middle east AD's all the time. You might try calling an AD here to see if they will sell you one and ship it there.

Check the VAT first, may not be worth it. Unless, you really want one.
