AD states “Less than a handful of Hulks per year”......how many does that mean?

Can’t believe this post.....

Not sure I get the danger to the OP about posting the AD's email. The email to me is pretty benign. It's simply stating their appreciation of his patience and that they get a small allocation and he's on the list. Nothing earth shattering there and we hear it all too often everyday.

Now if the email contained a claim of him getting you a Hulk within a defined short term time frame or the OP's post was negative toward the AD then I would say that's a guaranteed way to get nothing and a need to find a new AD. Posting an email like that will cause the AD to be in an awkward position with the rest of his customers waiting for the same watch.

I speak to my local AD quite regularly. They said they’ve only seen a few in the last 12 months.
But they’ve assured me that I’m on the list and in a good place to get one. I’m just not holding my breath

I asked a buddy who is a Manager at an AD and they received 3 in January.

Why, I’ve said or done nothing wrong to warrant being removed from their list?

Please tell me what I’ve actually done to offend the dealer or anyone?

Is that according to your AD, or according to you? You might want to check with them and get back to us on that.

You posted a private conversation on a public forum without asking for the other parties consent. It doesn’t matter that the content wasn’t embarrassing etc but if someone did that to me without asking I would consider it a breach of trust. If I were that AD you would go on the ‘Ain’t ever getting one’ list.

I wouldn't dream of posting any emails between myself an any AD I've used or hope to use again. Respect people's privacy and now, for obvious reasons, enjoy the grey dealers.

Totally agree. It's just a standard form letter that goes out to everyone that inquires about any unavailable watch.

Everything g she has said is correct and virtually the standard advice you will get from any dealer.

So I don’t understand all the comments about the OP not getting a hulk any time soon.

It’s standard advice, no state secrets are divulged.

ADs get like 1-2 a year depending on their location. Thing is these dealers know it’a a stupidly inflated in price piece so they will generally try to sell to people they know will not flip it which ultimately could land them in trouble with Rolex if it happens too much. Therefore they need some clues and history with the client ideally. Plus is makes good business sense to sell to regular local customers. It’s not fair in some cases but it’s the way it currently is.

Private conversation? Sure
Copy & paste answers from the AD should allow for the OP to post this screenshot.

Besides the point of the hulk not being offered from the AD to OP, isnt it discontinued? Some ADs believe it's getting cut because they can't order it from Rolex anymore.

I'd disagree. They sell to whoever can bring them the most $ in on this piece. They don't care if you wear, keep or flip. It's not illegal to flip a second hand watch. Now that the stickers are off it's become even harder for Rolex to determine if it's used or not.

They do receive more than handful of 16610LVs and those go to their regular customers. At least Rose was honest when she said she was not operating a numbered waiting list.

To answer the initial question I am sure from memory that there were quite a few incomings a few months back. Seems like less than 6months but my grip on time is a bit off at the mo!

For what it is worth, I think the message you received from your AD is likely in a standard format that they send to customers. I know from speaking with my own AD that they are inundated with enquiries about the availability of sports Rolex models and so they have a standard e-mail that they issue in response. I think that your chances of obtaining a SubLV are low, but you never know. If I was in your shoes then I would likely look to buy an example from a reseller, that way you will have the watch to enjoy for many years to come

March into April. I mentioned the high number of incomings in a different thread.

Interestingly, I can confirm from a personal conversation with an Authorized Dealer that I’m very friendly with that she didn’t receive any for many months and then received two in quick succession only a couple of weeks apart in late February.
