how OLD do i have to be before i should get one?!

lets have a poll
I don't think that's the correct question, Aadil. There is no age limit on any watch. If you want it and can afford it, by all means get it.

Having said that, I voted 40+. Why? Because appearances do count for something in the real world, whether we like it or not. In reality, a younger person, say in the 18-25 yr range will not be treated with the same respect by a jeweler (or AD) as a 40 yr old, especially if the younger person walks in wearing typical young person's garb - torn jeans and a sloppy shirt, and the 40 yr old comes in wearing nice slacks and shirt. It may be that the younger person can afford the high end jewelry or watch better than the 40 yr old, but the sales person won't know that and will judge you by your looks. I'm not saying that's right, but it is reality.

So if you walk around with a $20K+ YG DD at age 19, many people will wonder a) is it a fake; b) is this a spoiled rich kid; or c) is this some kind of rock star (now that's not a bad impression to give ).

I got my YG DD at age 60+, but then I didn't start collecting until I was 60 (OK so I'm a late bloomer).

Bottom line: Go with what you want and can afford and to hell with what others think.

I'm not sure. I'm so old I wear a sundial, but swap it our for an hourglass on weekends.

YG during the week, Platinum on weekends. I'm still trying to figure out why it's always quarter to four at the office:

Honestly who cares? If you can afford it then what does it matter what someone else thinks? I guess I just don't get that...

I think as long as you can tell time, you can wear any watch.

Apparently it's just me that thinks anything all yellow gold is an old man's watch?
Though... I also think all Pateks are too "old-man"ish as well. What do I know.
Oh well. One thing I did know is that this new watch wouldn't be the last for a couple years as I was previously told

Actually... If you wear gold comfortably now... there isn't a reason why an all gold watch would look wrong on you.

I don't think YG Day Date fits for young.
