Does anyone have any one way to do this better then another or is it as simple as just sticking the watch under a light for a few seconds. It just seems like i cant get the hands and markers to stay bright enough, long enough. Maybe I am not keeping it under the light long enough etc...

Hi and welcome to TRF!!

Try and use a powerful light source. A simple table lamp is not powerful enough for the job. Try a halogen lamp or something similar.

Also, thirty seconds is longer than you think...

hold it under there for at least that long.

If you have a add on flash for your camera, you can use it to force fire. That should give it a good charge.

You could try a UV source, there are photon style micro lights you can get etc...

Sadly the lume on the Rolex sucks, no two ways about it. This has been my only disappointment in my watch.

I wear my watch to bed. I was kind of hoping I didnt need a halogen lamp or some other equipment next to my bed to have to "charge" the watch to glow. But from the sounds of it, a regular lamp is really not the best solution. The pictures above is how i would like the watch to be around 3am in the morning, that way i wouldnt have to squint.

Actually, I have found that using a fluorescent light does a better job than an incandescent light (if you don't have the halogen light that JJ mentioned). It takes less time to charge the Luminova with a multiple-bulb fluorescent than anything else I have at home, barring the Sun, of course.

The powerful UV rays from the sun do a very good job actually.

If you step into a darkened corridor or room...straight in from a bright day outside....the watch will glow like crazy!!
