I’m not sure that statement is accurate.

The navy blue calf is not discontinued, it’s a custom order.

I ordered 2 more because I’m using it much more than the brown.

That's stunningly beautiful!

So the AD can order directly from Patek?

Could you ask them for the reference number/code? My AD is telling me it's not "in the catalog" and so they can't order it for me.

I was told by Ed Butland in the London salon that the blue calf strap was discontinued. Will be interesting to hear in that case if anyone has any luck ordering one.

I ordered one 3 months ago that I’m wearing now, as you can see in the picture.

I just ordered 2 more last week.

Lead time is 12-16 weeks.

Definitely not discontinued.

Maybe the gentlemen from the salon was misinformed.

It’s not a stock strap like the brown, it’s a custom strap, maybe that’s where the confusion is coming from.

I seriously doubt Ed was misinformed - he is a Patek director. But yes perhaps if it is now a custom order there may have been some confusion there.

Anyway, the blue strap is lovely and looks great in your photo

I think it is a cool watch.

Patek try the new thing to enter to the pilot watch market and make this right!

I think I prefer the blue, or would least like to see the stitching on the black

I have just been reliably informed from an AD who has tried to order me the blue or black calf strap, is that Patek no longer use those colours on calf straps

Grrrrrrrr

https://www.jean-rousseau.com/us can produce a gorgeous strap that meets or exceeds Patek specifications. They produced one for me in a steel-blue color that had a pebble texture with grey stitching that duplicated the Patek stitching. Their shop on Madison Avenue in NYC should have the specs on file. It took about 3 - 4 weeks total time and was priced under $250, IIRC.

Jean Rousseau can do anything you desire ... highly recommended.

So checked the place out. It sounds like they can generally do the strap any way you want except the holes are round vs square.

They remember the other guys strap and there has been 2 orders for the 5524 but says 100% that the holes are circle.

I probably wont order it given that.

They can do the stiching. Just not the holes.
We didnt talk about the price but i assume the 250USD is accurate since it was his order she was looking up. It was a recent order.

Its a global store. Sounds like the one in europe might be able to so more.

That is completely incorrect. They CAN punch the proper “square” holes duplicating the 5524/5522 strap. They did it for me and it was never in question.

Any chance you have a number we can reference? To point towards the same order? She literally looked at me weird? And spent like 15 mins digging through the orders.

My order was placed in early 5/2018. Wear your 5524 with its original strap upon your next visit, just like I did.

When I stopped-in, I had no intention on ordering a strap. I had done so to avoid a sudden torrential downpour, having no umbrella.

When I paid a visit, the actual strap maker was there and I met him. The straps are manufactured a few blocks from the retail store.

He took all the exact measurements. About 3 weeks later I received it and it fit perfectly, square holes and all.
