5164R incoming, or wait basel ?

Hi Guys,

My AD just emailed me that they received 5164R waiting for me.

I love the watch but worry something come up during Basel that i would prefer from 5164R, what you guys think ? (AD will keep the 5164R for me just 1 week).

Also concerning value, i feel 5164R is not the best "investment" from Patek and I'll definitely loose 10-20% if I decide to sell in few months.

Let me know your thoughts !

Thanks

A new release won’t be available for ages / buy it if you like it

how confident are you that any new release you would be able to get? Chances are they will be hard to come by especially if its "better" than a 5164. I would just get the 64R

Agree with this and also I think if you buy it to sell it quickly then it’s not what you looking for!

Did you want this watch before he called to offer it to you?

Will your AD offer you any discount?

It’s a smart looking watch, but make sure you really want it.

The 5164R is awesome, I would get it, especially that it will probably get a price hike, maybe not 20% like 5711-12, but most likely around 8-12%, so you might end up paying more, just get it, it’s a really cool watch

Go for it. I bet they leave this piece as it is for a couple more years....at least. And if you found a rosegold one in great shape and you have been wanting it....def. get it!

Nice pic! You say you love the watch so buy it, the chance of a new sports release that you like more and that will be readily buyable in 6 months is very unlikely.

Yes to "buy what you love" as nothing involving expensive watches is logical. It's a passion of the heart, like any other, so who can really define it?

You only go around once, so you should be happy! What are you waiting for?

GREAT PIX on that attachment!!! That thing is hella shiny and oozes liquid cool. Makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.... LOL

I tried one on yesterday, was surprised at how much I liked it but I’m after a 5167. Apparently I only missed a 5167a by a few hours

I don’t think the 5164r is particularly hard to get so even if you wait until after Basel it won’t be hard to get one. Like others have said, you should be getting a discount on the 5164r.

I felt like there was no point of having both. 5164A’s are selling for top prices now. So you wouldn’t be adding too much for the R.
