Question about post not showing up

Hi, I just joined a few days ago, and wrote a post detailing my experience with my GMT getting magnetized then what I did about it b/c I thought it might be helpful to anyone in the same situation. I wrote a detailed account and the steps I took to resolve it, attached a pic of my watch and the demagnetizer I used.

I submitted the post on Wednesday, and of course it said b/c I was new it would have to be approved by a moderator, but it never appeared and I never got any notifications about it.

Is it possible it got lost or didn't get saved? Should I resubmit?

Thanks!

This is also happening to me. I've made two or three posts since I joined and all said they must be approved. They never were. About to give up with this site.

If they just can't be approved until we reach a certain number of posts or something, no big deal, but it would be very helpful if our account profile could show us posts that are pending approval so they don't just appear "lost" or something. It took me half an hour to write that post.

Thank you, Paul. Does this mean all future posts will now go up? What about my ability to post a photo from, say, Flickr?

You need to have ten posts under your belt before they get through automatically. Till then your posts will usually get withheld for approval by the forum software. How long they take to be cleared/moderated depends on when a mod gets to it. That might be one minute or a few hours, depending who is online and when.

It helps prevent spam and aggressive trolls from attacking the forum. It's not meant to be unfriendly. Just keeping the place clean and safe.

I'm still wondering what happened to the first post about my watch being magnetized, would one of the moderators mind checking please? I'm 100% sure I got the screen that said acknowledged my submission but said it needed to be approved

I've had a look through all your posts and I don't see it. It's not held up, and wasn't moved off forum. The only thing I can think is that the whole thread went south for some reason and was deleted, but that very rarely happens. Stuff gets moved off forum but rarely deleted totally. I'm assuming you didn't mention firearms, politics or religion...that would be another reason.

If you write it up again, do it on a Word document or something then copy and paste here, so you have back up.

We don't necessarily aim to please.

No big deal. I didn't not have anything controversial, only my experience with watch getting magnetized. I rewrote it, and it showed up the second time, so it's all good.

Thanks for checking into it for me!

No problem. It's a useful post. I need to get one of those demagnetizers.
