Real or fake?

I am told it is about 20years old, so not many of the new markings to prove it is real.

Any concerns?

Absolutely no way to tell from photographs if it is real or fake; particularly with examples other than fountain pens. But IIRC there was no roller ball or ball point version of the 144. The 144 was fountain pen only. The ball point was the 164 and was a twist action typical ball point capless design.

You really need to buy the seller as well as the pen when it comes to such items.

Check the cap for a serial number engraved into the gold. That is a commonly faked example Montblanc.

Some MontBlanc pens, especially before 1990, only have “Germany” on the ring at the top of the clip.

Like the others say, sometimes it is difficult to tell if they are real going off pictures alone. Is this a seller on here or someone off a website?

From what I see on the pictures, it looks good. You can send me a message if you want to discuss more.
