Vintage Omega with corrosion on hands a cause for concern?

I am looking at a vintage Speedmaster Triple Date (10 year old watch).

The seller has good references as being trustworthy and says the watch is keeping good time and everything functions as it should.

No signs of corrosion on the case but the hands have some corrosion.

He does not have any photos of the mechanism.

Should I be worried about water damage or should I buy the watch and just get new a new handset from Ofrei if it bugs me?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I don't think there is water damage, if anything you can just replace the hands. Or just look for another example, they are out there.

My '52 Seamaster had corroded hands and dial, but the movement was perfectly preserved. I see a lot of vintage Omegas with hand and dial corrosion, more so than with other brands.

Thanks for the input so far. I liked this one because of the arabic v. usual stick markers. Pretty close in design to my Zenith HW but I am a sucker for blue.

I agree that many vintage Omega's corrosion on the hands. It's never bothered me, and I think can add character to an older watch.

My only concern here is that this watch is not all that old.

Worries me too. I have bought 3 great used watches over the past 18 months.

All about 10 years old but looking new. This one is about the same age I think but the hands make me think there may be a problem inside.

It was on ebay for 7 days and got no bids (even though the seller is good).
