Bought my first Omega what do you think?
I managed to get my first Omega Planet Ocean XL for $2600 in mint condition. The seller has a good rep and everything looks great via the pictures and info he listed. I love big watches and I really like the orange bezel. Did I pay to much at $2600? I really wanted a Sub but couldn't find one I liked that fit the budget. The only think I didn't like was the fact that it doesn't come with a warranty card. The dealer said it was a "gray market" piece so it didn't come with one. Will this be a problem once it needs serviced? Also, what about a watch winder should I have one of these? I know lots of questions thank you for the help. I should have it tomorrow so i'll post a picture.
Thanks Guys |

You don't need a watch winder. If you do not wear the watch for a few days, you will have to reset the time and wind it manually. Ask the dealer for an receipt with the serial number and model number of the watch, then if you come to sell it, you can show the buyer where it came from.

I am very happy though I already can't wait to get another swiss watch. Another addiction just what my bank account needed. LOL

This Planet Ocean Liquid Metal is number 175 from 1948 produced and is my baby. It's never off my wrist and makes me smile every day. I sometimes hanker after a Deep Sea, which are starting to become available at less crazy money recently, but I worry that, because I could only afford to own one real quality timepiece at a time, I would miss my PO LM. Enjoy your watch! It's a beaut |

Congrats! A close friend has the exact same model and it's a stunner in person. It has a wrist presence that's difficult to communicate in photos. Pictures often just don't do that watch justice.

Your PO looks great! Congratulations!
I suggest that you get a watch winder as your PO will always be ready to go. I like having all of my automatic watches ready to wear anytime. Cheers, Bill P. |

Yes I agree with gaopa, watch winder is particularly important if you want to properly maintain your watch.

Congrats on a great selection. If you only have a couple of watches, a winder is optional as it should remained on your wrist as much as possible. I have the 45.5mm Quantum of Solace LE PO and it my daily wearer. It is almost feels like it it not on my wrist.
Like A.I (John) mentioned, Omegas will grow on you. So will Rolex watches too. |
