it is from 1999 its keeping around 5-6 secs daily gaining time should i send it in for a check up

If it has not been cleaned and oiled in the past 20 years, it would be a good idea to have this done, as well as fresh waterproof seals.

I’d definitely have it pressure tested at a bare minimum, if you plan to go in the water with it

As others said, it has been 20 years. IMHO time for a service.

i was reading old posts i mean i. did buy it pre owned and it was checked out so i dont think its a big deal i mean so far the last 24hours it has only gained 5secs so it is in cosc specs i did call my ad and spoke to the watchmaker he told me he can adjust the time in the movement but i live 2 hours away so ill just deal with it for the time

my ad wants me to bring it in but i just dont have time and im not trusting usps with my watch ill just wear it till everything blows over come like late summer ill send it in for a service

Just received my Submariner back from Rik Dietel, Rolex CW-21 in Florida. Excellent work.
Vintage slower beat watches "might" be more forgiving, like my 1680-but the faster
3130/3135 movements in the newer 14060/16610 Submariners will still need regular service and lubrication. A mechanical Rolex is like a Porsche-prolonging the service interval might be more expensive. Tool watch dive models enjoy new seals & gaskets. Even
a Mercedes may need an occasional oil change and lube..............

Rik is a great guy and is highly recommended here on TRF. He lives near me too & had serviced a few watches in the past for me as well. He still has my 16710 (was hoping it was done by now) before him being back logged & all the craziness lately but it is what it is.

Time for servicing, do get it done soon as the gears are already dried up and the small little teeth may break due to dryness..
