Mine is Canon.

But if you have a nice 70 to 200ish zoom you only really need then a 28-70 to cover most things people shoot.

Then if you want some kind of specialty lens you probably can just buy a fix focal length. In the last 16 years I simply had the 2 lenses.

My travel camera is a Canon 70SX with a 21-1200 lens.

As you very well know that all of it is quite meaningless to me as no one would ever ever need or require the amount of camera junk I have at all... Just something about me and cameras ..!

I’ll be very interested in your impressions of the native ISO of 102,000. (Expandable to 3 million. That’s amazing.) I wish my D600 had a higher native ISO, as I like taking night and star shots.

I been messing around with settings for the D6 and at the moment I will shoot it in Av Mode with Auto ISO ...This thing is a beast with that new 120-300 on it.. The hood alone for it is $875.00 as its all made out of carbon fiber.. Really well built..

Can you imagine posting pictures in a thread like this and no matter if it was an award winning snap or junk, "Hell I can get better results with my Blah Blah"..! I am quite sure it should produce some decent family pictures etc..:)

Ok so you set up the camera and lens for say 300mm making sure you have great focus and great bokeh. Then you lock down your tripod.

Then you park your bike beside the camera.

You get the family set up with a nice composition and hole in the group for you to fit in.

You trip the shutter so the timer starts. Jump on your bike and pedal like hell.

Get a few feet from the family, drop the bike and jump in the hole and smile.

Click.

Then you jump up get back on your bike, ride to the camera, chimp the picture on the back and see if its all right.

Hmmmm.

OK lets do one more, you yell.

Everyone groans....

You click the shutter again, back onto your bike and away you go again, thinking to yourself, damn, I should have used my other bike.

Any quality artistic photos will stand on their merits. So you must be saying that you are either unable or unwilling to post any photos for fear of being called out. At least we have the photos of the duplicate cameras and lenses which could have been taken with a smartphone.

This new combo of the D6 & 120-300 Zoom is slightly less in weight then my D5 with the 200MM F/2 VR2.. That is my walk around camera..

WORK, meaning your works of art. The pictures you take with your expensive beautiful cameras.

You should find the zoom far more practical than the 200 as a walk around lens.

That's always been my issue with fixed lenses as a walk around because the length is never what you need at the time. So you actually have to carry more than one lens.

Good luck with the new one.

They should ask before they sell the products if they will be used by males or females.

If males, don't bother sending the directions. It's a waste of a tree.

I値l run the Leica through its paces for you since you値l be busy with the new kit.

Have you weighed the combo yet?

The 120-300mm f/2.8 comes in at 7 pounds alone. I know you could do it handheld but a monopod is almost a requirement for most use methinks.

The D6 & 120-300 and the D5 plus 200 f/2 both almost weigh exactly the same and i do take the D5 Combo out and ok for a couple hours with it but after that I get bored anyways..:)

Don’t fall for this trap or I’ll have to pull out my Sony N2.

And it doesn’t matter if you can take a decent pix ‘cos the cameras all look bloody impressive.

Leave all the settings in auto and push the big button.
