Bedside alarm clock?

Can anyone recommend a good bedside alarm clock?

At the moment I have my Explorer sitting on a valet which is great for checking the time at night, the lume is perfect. For an alarm though I use my iPhone and would really rather have something a little nicer.

I’m not after anything that charges a phone or that has a tonne of different features. I quite literally just want something equivalent to my Explorer in terms of lume but with an alarm and in a size bigger than my watch. Ideally something mechanical but I’m guessing quartz is more likely.

Any thoughts? Anyone using something similar to what I’m thinking about?

Cheers

In the real world most any cheaply bought quartz clock will do,as all mostly have good lume and alarms, can be bought for under 10 pounds brands like Casio.

The "snooze" buttons on those are notoriously unreliable. Maintenance costs tend to be expensive as well.

Being an Echo/Alexa user I think the echo dot with the clock display is pretty slick.

Never had the need for an alarm clock. Not sure how, but I'm able to set my mental clock and I awake on time, without exception......Funny thing, as a kid I couldn't get out of bed!

Ambient Weather RC-8427 Radio Controlled Projection Clock with Indoor Temperature

Can't live without this. I don't use the alarm feature (I have a 4 year old for that) but I love the projection feature.

I've been using my trusty Bose Sound Wave radio since 2002, still sounds great.

I also use a projector clock for the ceiling. Huge red numbers since I'm pretty blind without the contacts in.

I don't have that particular model, so I use the Echo Tap in my bedroom and it meets my needs quite well, but I'm retired. As for sound, somehow I managed to inadvertently turned up the volume and yesterday when the alarm went off, it nearly blasted me out of the bed. I wouldn't be surprised if the neighbors heard it.

I would note, however, that if you really need to be punctual, I think quartz is the way to go, because it will wake you even if there's a power outage.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think though that I didnt make myself very clear.

Not after anything electronic. The closest reply so far has been from The Joker, I almost mentioned the Memovox in my original post!

Also not aiming for something cheap and cheerful, would really like to buy something of decent quality that will last, much like my Explorer or Submariner.

So what do we have on offer? Surely there are lots of enthusiasts out there that choose a bedside alarm clock in the same way that they choose their wristwatch?

The Joker I do like your thinking, however I think we need to move away from anything with a strap and think a bit more purpose built.

I did find this as an example, but really wanting something new, not a big fan of vintage.

This one dates back to 2007 and is still chugging away. Now that I’m retired, no need for the alarm.

Edit: Just saw your second post. Forget mine.

LV has a table clock. It’s automatic and spherical. Lumed saved for 6 o clock. I don’t own one but have seen it in person and it’s very nice.

The LV is nice but Im saving up for a JLC Atmos for the desk.

Really surprised that there are so few options for good quality alarm clocks. Cartier do one but its not quite my style.
