Rolex Orig. design engraving

I’ve seen this engraving and was wondering if this is normal? I know there is “REGISTERED DESIGN” and “ORIG ROLEX DESIGN”, but I have never really seen “ORIG. ROLEX DESIGN” with a full stop after ORIG.

Also, apologies for asking a stupid question, but can font and placing of the engravings also differ from watch to watch produced in the same time period/year?

Thanks. Is this practice specific to this model? Or also others from different time periods?

The switch occurred at the W or T serial numbers and yes it is found on the other models - at least on the Subs, GMTs and Datejusts and probably the other models too.

OK, next question. Why does everybody remove the serial numbers from the images posted? I am going to assume to ensure an exact replica (fake) of an existing Rolex will not be produced by some unsavory characters? I posted a few pics of a service record from my Rootbeer and removed the serial numbers just because everybody else does but an explanation would be better than speculation. Thanks you in advance to any and all forum members who respond! Here you go
