So the Rolex marketing scheme thing must be working.
I had one a few years back. It was a nice watch. |

I spoke to three of the of the ADS I use, one was 6months to a year and a £1000 deposit. The blue dial is the most popular and the last one they had was 5 months ago.
Another AD we do get them every other month but don’t have one and can do a dial swap for free. No thanks I don’t want a new watches opened up just yet. Third AD, just said I will let you know as soon as one turns up and will ask for all variations so that you can try and decide. So less than 2 weeks AD calls and lets me know they are here for me to try. I walked out with the smooth on oyster. This watch IMHO is the one of the best blue dialled watche that Rolex do. I found the fluted and jubilee detracts attention from the blue dial.

Blue dial dj41 is stunning, smooth bezel on oyster go really well too, such a classy and versatile watch not to mention comfortable so it’s easy to see why this is so popular. Guess I got lucky that it only took a couple of weeks or so of emailing and calling all Sydney ADs.

I did hear one AD had a waitlist on the blue dial DJ41 configuration but thought may be they were just trying to make models outside of the professional range look as though they face similar demand. Interesting now to see this in some other spots. Anyway, as it relates to the watch I like the DJ41 and the photos of the new DJ36. They are great watches and likely among the biggest sellers for the brand, I always cringe when people refer to them as "just a Datejust" or crappy, boring, etc. One of these would be on my list actually, just not next!

Yes, they are getting harder to find. Buy from a trusted re-seller/gray dealer

I almost went with this config but since this was at the time going to be my first Rolex I ended up buying the two tone in yellow gold with the silver dial as this looked more classic Rolex to me. 3 days later my AD called me and said he had a new Sub that was mine if I wanted it...lol So I ended up buying two watches! Still waiting for the Datejust to ship out, should be this week the grey dealer says.

Ridiculous hype feeds into a vicious cycle. The DJ41 is a great watch. But to make it seem like a blue dial is so much more special than a black dial for instance, is ridiculous. Sheep mentality. In a few years, no one is going to give a crap about a blue DJ.

Now I've heard it all. The AD said he will sell you a Datejust immediately if you will just buy a second Rolex--in solid gold??? Does anyone fall for this??? |

I’ve heard worse from an AD. So I can’t say it’s too crazy. I was told if I was willing to drop $68,000 on solid gold watches that I would be given the opportunity to purchase two of the SS models I am on the wait list for and “maybe” shorten my waiting time for an SS Daytona. Load of crap that I would never do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I apologise. I wrote that statement cryptically. I will like to add that my transactions through my AD has been awesome. I would recommend starting a relationship with AD & see where it goes. Like any relationship good ones put smiles on both parties faces. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

Yes. There’s a 4 month wait list in Houston. Was able to snag one up online from an authorized dealer and came with papers ect. Will remain in my collection forever.

I phoned my AD yesterday (they open Sundays) to ask if he could get me at Rhodium and Blue Dial to see side by side, he said he had the Blue in - I went and had a look and its now on my wrist.
I guess its what they have delivered and luck

In Norway it's not just the DJ. Walked into a AD a week ago and they had 4 Rolexes left, all of them were below 34 mm.

Definitely becoming more common place in most AD's now.
The SS Blue DJ is the poor mans Blue-Z Milguass, which is also quite hot atm. |

Used you can even get a good deal still on these models. David has or had a black dial fluted jubilee for $8.5k if memory serves me well.
