If they do recreate the Tudor sub, my guess is there is no way they give it the Mercedes hands. It would be too close to the Rolex Sub. They don't want dilute the Rolex Sub in any way at this point, even in the interest of being true to the original Tudor Sub product line. They're going to make sure those Snowflake hands are synonymous with Tudor and Mercedes with Rolex. It's just good product and brand development.

The return of the Tudor blue Sub would be amazing. Fingers crossed!

Cant stand Snowflake hands. They are just too large and clunky looking. Makes the piece look cheap.

Nice pair! Each one unique in their own right but similar enough to know they come from the same heritage. That's the way I'm sure it's going to stay.
I'd even argue that the Snowflake hands are more unique to Tudor than the Mercedes hands are to Rolex. Over the years many other brands have copied the Mercedes hands at some point for their models, Tag, Zodiac, etc. Haven't seen too many copy the Snowflake. Though it's not all that fair of a comparison since the Rolex professional line is so iconic everyone wants to copy. But you get the idea. |

I know the snowflake hands are polarizing, but I don't think there is any argument that it is easier to read the time on a Tudor than on a Rolex. I love the thicker easier-to-read hands on the Tudor. The hands themselves may not be as pleasing to the eye as the thinner mercedes hands but they perform their purpose better IMO.

As soon as Tudor posted the teaser I thought of my '95 Submariner. I don't swim with this one, as I don't want to risk damaging the tritium dial should a seal fail. If they release a modern version I would be all over it.

They’re trolling.
No way Rolex would allow a 5d sub return. Maybe some throwback face aesthetics in a BB case but not a sub. |

This will give them a nice Boost, and a price Hike.

Tudor hinting at new submariner?
Who cares what it’s called? Tudor is releasing a painted dial diver! My guess it’s under the black bay line that’s where the brand is headed. Tudor subs are done. 39mm painted dial triangle indexes and snowflake hands. Let’s face it the flake hands are the Tudor identity now if they weren’t the first place they could have used alternate hands effectively is the black bay chrono. Last they’ve never released a watch with this combo and they are into interpretation of classics not copies.
Some inspiration |

It's really unusual for Rolex to make a watch without surrounds!!! It would be nice to see a 40mm watch. Watch it be a Onewatch entry!!!
