Icon14 Gallop ready-ing 5205G and 5905R

Howdy pardners,

My AD messaged me that my orders for deployant buckles arrived.
Also replaced my 5205G black strap with the bluish strap that comes with 5207G.

Happy with the results. I can now start wearing them.

I understand why some people do not like deployant buckles and enjoy the tight grasp of the leather strap around their hairy wrists. In my case, i like the added security when Heehaw gallops like a bird, also the air flow in the gap between the buckle and my wrist.

Y'all have a good day/night.

Deployant buckles are about $2,800 + tax.
Straps around 450 + tax
I had also asked my AD in Europe. It was just shy of 3K euro there.

I remember my Lange deployant buckle having cost around the same.

I want a deployant but I’m concerned it will be too thick compared to the buckle. Clasps kinda bother me while I'm working on my laptop. Looks great though.

this explains why at times i feel compelled to take off my watch as i work on the computer....but i do that with all my watches after a while. I attributed that to their weight.

Not too thick, at least not to me...and i am known to be too detailed oriented (i.e. anal)

When I have slim strap and buckle, I never feel the need to remove it while I work. If I’m wearing a gmt ii, I’m constantly working around it as I type. I guess that’s why I travel with my calatrava more. The rolex deployant clasp falls right where my wrist hits the edge of the laptop.

Both look fantastic, congrats!

May I ask if the new straps came with quick release spring bars already installed?

Howdy KBM. I honestly do not know. After I paid the lady AD what i owed (minus the deposit), she took it to their watch maker to install. I did not see the installation.

My gut feel is they did not come with the quick release spring as when she gave me my original straps (never worn!) they had no spring bars in them.

Now the perfectionist in me thinks the springs, if any, should have been in white gold.
