1st vintage seiko in my collection
I recently picked up my first vintage seiko chronograph and am truly amazed at the craftsmanship and quality of such an inexpensive watch. Difinitaley will get another one down the road. Doesn't compare to my rolex but what a wonderful watch for a couple of hundred bucks

It's quite easy to determine the production year of the Seiko watches. The first number on the serial on the back is the year and the second number or letter indicates the month. So please post the serial number here to know the exact month and year of production.

59 are the first two in the serial number, so that ro ably puts it in around sep of 75

Maybe you can help me. I have a Seiko World Time from the 60's. The only number I can find on the back is 4no2630. Any idea the year of manufacture???

Hey Russ:
Great catch, but beware of what's out there in the market.....there are a lot more than Seiko Chronos that will steal your heart ! Mine says "hello"....

Very nice, Russ! Fair warning: these vintage Seiko chronos are addicting.

You described the watch well. A friend of the family bought it new when he was overseas during Vietnam. He gave it to me when I was in the 7TH grade. I;ve had it ever since and it's been serviced twice. Band is long gone but I found a nice Seiko bracelet that looks nice. It's on my never sell list!!! |

Yes I've found some beautiful chronic out there, I recently bought and sold a solid 18k egona Suisse chronograph in mint condition, manual wind chronograph cost me $700 and what a gorgeous watch that was. There is a lot of great pieces out there
