Weightlifting milestone

Hit an all time PR in my deadlift of 455lbs. Just feeling super excited about it, especially being in my 40’s and having twice the strength I did in my 20’s. Had to share.

I didn't realise how heavy it was so I converted it to stone, that is well over 2 x my weight. That's amazing, very well done.

Incredible - I'm 36 going to be 37 next month. Getting into better shape is really on my mind at this point. I'm not in bad shape just not the shape I want to be in. I know what it takes and now just need to do a better job of getting it done. Kudos to you!

You should hollow your lower back when doing the lift bro. You add too much pressure on it in this way.

Nonetheless, great job

Awesome job. Just be careful on that lower back. I ruptured a intervertebral disc doing this. The rupture pressed against the sciatic nerve and I promptly boarded the train to painville. Thankfully I recovered without surgery. Long, demoralizing process. Most (physically) painful thing I ever went through. Grateful every day to have my health, fitness and mobility back to (close to) normal. No more dead lifts for me. Play on and be safe!

Very nice!

I was on a solid path for some great PR's this year, then the world got put on hold, so I have been doing calisthenics work since March. Not a terrible thing, luckily I enjoy it. Just not looking forward to the back soreness once the world is normal again and my gym opens.

Hell yeah.

I get it, 53 years-old and I lift a little myself.

Great to hit a PR, but as per above do keep an eye on form as that looked painful.
