Problem with Clasp Springbar on 16610T
Hey guys I have a 16610T Submariner that was last serviced in 2015. I have taken the clasp off the bracelot a few times over the years. The most recent time, the ring on the tip of the springbar no longer catches on the clasp hole and extends fully.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the springbar like wear. I used a loupe and it seems fully intact. If I take the springbar and gently push it into the other set of holes on the clasp from the outside, it catches fine on them. It is strange that each one of the holes on the upper set allows it to pass through on both sides exactly the same way when I have never used them (as if I forced a springbar through and that caused wear). Edit: I just noticed I probably posted this in the wrong forum. Apologies and feel free to move to appropriate one if necessary. |

I guess there is probably no chance that the clasp holes magically got bigger so I must have somehow mistakenly used a third party springbar when I took the clasp off the bracelot. I guess that springbar possibly fit for a limited time becore becoming slightly warped enough to go through. I find it hadd to believe a rolex springbar or rolex clasp hole would ever warp to allow this.
I guess I could just go to an AD to see if I could buy an authentic rolex one. |

That doesn't look like a clasp spring bar to me.

.
If you go to a Rolex dealer, they should be able to help you with the part. Curious where your watch was serviced as that part does not look authentic. . Look at this chart and part number 32-20733 . That should help with your search. . |

It appears to be a spring bar for the lug holes., maybe for a ladies Datejust.

Update for anyone browsing:
At some point I had lost the original clasp springbar. I used one, unknowingly, that just happen to fit due to how the rubber bracelot I used was sitting when inserted into the clasp. There was just enough tension so that the springbar pictured didn't pop through. When I switched back to the normal Oyster bracelot (93250), the third party springbar failed and slipped through. The official part reference for the clasp springbar on the rolex bracelot 93250 is 32-20936. Luckily, I was able to find a replacement for that exact part number and it is working perfectly. I am not sure how I was so careless and it could have easily resulted in dropping or even losing my watch. Thanks for all the replies to my confused problem! |
