Marinemaster SBDX017 Rubber strap & clasp suggestions

Just added the SBDX017 to the collection & was looking at the Crafter Blue MM straps. What's everyone's personal choice & any suggestions for a secure clasp alternative to the Seiko ? Cheers

Uncle Seiko waffle and tire-tread straps both work if you're going for an appropriate vintage "1968" look. Crafter Blue/Strapcode fitted ends for a more modern look.

How about the original Seiko rubber strap that comes with the watch? It has a tang buckle though.

Don't mind the tang but was looking for something with curved ends that fits similar to the Crafter Blue

I recommend the Crafter Blue strap. I have one on my SBDX001 with the stock MM300 clasp and it's freakin awesome. Buy one.

Big fan of MM300 here. It’ll be nice to see some pictures of your setup.

Well this is a tale.

The Marinemaster I purchased was 1/2 days away from being delivered when I originally posted this thread, here in the UK eBay place all watch sales over £1500 into the hands of a verification team who then mail it on to me (the buyer). UPS were handling delivery but despite being 'on the van' for next day delivery it then went missing. Had to wait 3 weeks on an investigation which found nothing & it was marked as lost & I got the refund.

2 weeks later & another Marinemaster was listed, same area as the UPS depot my purchase got 'lost' at & roughly £600 under the average market value. There was a distinctive mark to the bezel on the watch I'd purchased, as too this newly listed MM, so I asked the seller to confirm the serial # & he's just got back to me, it's the same watch.

Unfortunately unable to buy it as now under criminal investigation, guessing the new sellers oblivious to the watch being 'iffy' or a fool for listing so soon after & supplying the serial #.

Wow, one of my favourites from Seiko! Such a good looking, functional watch. Enjoy in good health and please post more pictures!
