3235 Rotor Ball Bearings

Hello everyone,

I think I'm in the right place.

I just got a Sept 2022 126613LB from a reputable dealer and I looked at the movement today.
The automatic movement rotor has a strange bearing, not the usual bearing you see on the 3235 movement. It has so many balls inside, I usually see 7 balls inside.

I am wondering if maybe an experienced watchmaker could tell me if this is something new for 2022 versions of 3235? Or someone messed with it? Maybe used unauthentic parts on a new watch? It doesn't make sense to me.

Based on other threads I've seen, I am pretty sure this is an updated 32xx movement.

Rolex make such updates silently.

I really hope that’s the case, a silent update.
I spent all night looking on Chinese websites to find this exact bearing, the only place I found anything like it was on the Rolex website.
So that was a good sign.
I just wish someone could tell me for sure they have seen this before in real life.

I joined today because I also had the same concern on my DJ41. It seems Rolex also added Chronometer Perpetual to the oscillating weight (rotor) in the past few months.

I am also new around here. Tons of info in those very long threads.

My Sept 2022 movement doesn't have text on the rotor but I found this somewhat similar movement (3285) without the fancy text and with just as many balls in the bearing as mine. Picture looks to be from Rolex.

I guess mid 2022 to 2023 is a period of small updates in the movement's details. Probably more to come.

Your DJ41 has the same 3235 as mine I think, do you have a picture of your movement by any chance? does it look like mine? what month is it?

Have more or less rotor bearings are only to give mainly better winding efficiency when wearing nothing more.
